2. The meaning is different.
Two-way Permit is a travel document issued by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Exit-Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security to Chinese mainland residents for private travel, visiting relatives, engaging in business, training, employment, studying abroad and other non-official activities. One-way permit is a certificate issued by the relevant department of the Ministry of Public Security of China to China mainland residents who are relatives of Hong Kong or Macao to settle in Hong Kong or Macao.
3. The term of certificate is different.
Two-way permit: valid for 5 years. On September 5, 20 14, 14, the Regulations on Electronic Travel Pass between Hong Kong and Macao was fully implemented, and the validity period of adult electronic travel pass between Hong Kong and Macao was extended to 10, and people under the age of 16 still issued five-year valid passes. The current Hong Kong and Macao Pass will expire on September 3, 20 19.
One-way pass: valid for 6 months. The one-way permit has expired, but it does not meet the conditions for applying for a Hong Kong permanent identity card. The Hong Kong identity card is still valid.
These documents are used for different purposes.
One-way permit is a way for mainlanders to immigrate and settle in Hong Kong. It can be likened to never coming back, because before they get a pass, they have to cancel their mainland accounts, then change into Hong Kong identity cards, wait a while, and change into Hong Kong permanent identity cards, so that they can enjoy all the welfare policies of Hong Kong people. Two-way permit is only used for traveling, visiting relatives and business activities. It takes a short time to come and go, and the processing cycle is short, usually about ten working days.
What is a one-way pass?
The People's Republic of China Travel Permit to and from Hong Kong and Macao (commonly known as the One-way Permit) is a document issued by the relevant departments of the Ministry of Public Security of China to China mainland residents with relatives from Hong Kong and Macao to settle in Hong Kong or Macao. Mainland residents can immigrate to Hong Kong through this one-way permit and obtain Hong Kong status, but they must cancel their domestic identity cards and household registration, which is why they are called one-way permits.
What is a two-way permit?
The People's Republic of China Travel Permit to and from Hong Kong and Macao (commonly known as the Two-way Permit) is a travel document issued by People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Exit-Entry Administration of the Ministry of Public Security to China mainland residents for private travel to and from Hong Kong or Macao, visiting relatives, engaging in business, training, employment, studying abroad and other non-official activities. Hong Kong Two-way Permit cannot be used to immigrate to Hong Kong. We can roughly understand that the Hong Kong Two-way Permit is what we often call the Hong Kong and Macao Pass.
