What about my China nationality after emigrating to Australia?

We often say that immigration does not mean obtaining nationality, but obtaining PR- permanent residency or permanent residency, which is also commonly known as green card.

"Permanent residency" and "nationality" are two different concepts.

Nationality refers to the legal qualification that a person belongs to a national or citizen of a certain country, and it is the legal basis for the state to exercise personal jurisdiction and diplomatic protection. People who have obtained permanent residency in a country do not mean that they have also acquired the nationality of that country. They still retain their original nationality. Only when these people applied for the nationality of that country and were finally approved did they acquire the nationality of that country.
