Things to note when living and working in Australia

1. The allowed working time of the visa must be over 18 years old. Some also require an Australian student visa. If you violate the law, your student status will be revoked. Generally, the initial working hours are 20 hours. After a while, you can go to the local immigration bureau to apply for a 40-hour/week work permit. You only need to pay a handling fee and fill out a form. It is very easy.

2. Generally, after you start working, your employer will ask you to provide your tax payment number within 28 days.

3. When international students come to Australia to study and start working, they will be affected by Australian tax laws. International students must apply for a Tax File Number (Tax File Number) from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). To apply for a tax payment number, you need to show your ID. If you apply with your passport as your ID, you need to go in person to apply. Application forms are available at post offices and tax offices in various places.

1. If you are paid in cash, you must check your pay stub to make sure you are receiving the legal minimum wage and that your employer has deducted taxes from it. 2. Your employer cannot fire you because you inquired about your salary or contacted the Fair Work Ombudsman.

3. Any behavior that discriminates against you when looking for a job or in the work environment is illegal.

4. If you are unable to work for a short period of time due to illness or injury, your employer cannot fire you.

5. Your employer cannot exert inappropriate pressure or influence on you to force you to sign an agreement or agree to certain arrangements.
