However, after six years of construction, Fengyang has not been fully established. On the one hand, there is really no danger to defend this place; Second, there is no urban foundation and the cost is too high; Third, arouse public anger, and finally it is not established.

Rich people in Jiangsu and Zhejiang tried their best to go back, but Zhu Yuanzhang issued an order forbidding them to leave Fengyang House.

In this case, they thought of a good way, that is, every time they are idle, usually in winter, they make a living by begging in groups and go back to their hometown in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Wait until the next spring, and then return to Fengyang in droves from their hometown.

The construction process of Fengyang in Zhongdu:

The Ming Dynasty was founded in 1368. In the same year, the Ming army went north and occupied the Yuan Dynasty, ending the rule of the Yuan Dynasty in the whole country. The political situation has changed greatly. After analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of Nanjing, Guanzhong, Luoyang, Kaifeng and Peiping, Ming Taizu thinks that Nanjing is too far away from the Central Plains to control. The central plains is also trapped by people's livelihood, and both material resources and manpower depend on Jiangnan.

So in September of the second year of Hongwu, he chose to build a neutral mansion in the capital city on the south side of Shili Mountain in the west of Haozhou (now Fengyang). "The company was ordered to build city palaces, such as the system of the capital."

The construction project of Zhongdu was presided over by Li Shanchang. Hongwu broke ground in three years and began to build the imperial city. By the sixth year of Hongwu, the walls and foundations of the Imperial City and the Forbidden City had been basically completed, and the outer cities of Zhongdu had also been built.

In the eighth year of Hongwu, due to the huge construction project in Zhongdu, craftsmen fought, and the existing craftsmen cursed in Fengyang Palace. Zhu Yuanzhang only killed 1000 craftsmen. In April of that year, Ming Taizu abandoned the plan of building Fengyang as its capital on the grounds of "labor cost".

No other buildings will be built in Zhongdu, and the unfinished project will continue. Since then, in October of the eighth year of Hongwu, the subsidiary building of Zhongdu City was rebuilt and the imperial tomb was built. In the 26th year of Hongwu, the outer city gate of Zhongdu was built, and the construction of Zhongdu was completed in the 30th year.

After Ming Taizu stopped building Zhongdu, Zhongdu was no longer regarded as the capital, but was designated as the capital of the Ming Dynasty. The imperial clan of the Prince often practiced in Fengyang and lived in Zhongdu. Later, because Judy moved to Beijing, which was far from Fengyang, the prince no longer lived and lived in Zhongdu as in Hongwu period, and the palace was gradually abandoned.
