Putian Chaoshan immigrants

Putian immigration is a very famous event! Main immigration route: Putian-direct to Chaoshan. Indirect route: a small number of immigrants: Putian-Quanzhou-Chaoshan, Putian-Zhangzhou-Chaoshan, Putian-Quanzhou-Zhangzhou-Chaoshan. Compared with other immigrants' ancestral homes and Putian, there are obvious differences. The genealogical systems in Chaoshan, Hainan, Zhanjiang, Leizhou and Dianbai are quite complete. These genealogies clearly record "ancestors moved to Putian" and clearly remember the names of ancestors who entered Putian as local citizens. Most of them are authentic Putian people. Their ancestors lived in Putian for more than ten generations and dozens of generations, and lived in Putian for the least time. Even the surnames of most naturalized ancestors are well-known families in China, which originated in Putian. For example, in Chaoshan, Zhanjiang, Hainan and other places, most of the Lins are Jiumu Forest, yellow is "Puyang Yellow" and Zheng is "Putian Nanhu Zheng". Putian is the hometown of ancestors in Chaoshan, Zhanjiang and Hainan, which accords with historical facts. Chaoshan dialect mainly comes from Putian dialect in southern Fujian, which is somewhat different from Quanzhou dialect and Zhangzhou dialect, so Chaoshan dialect itself is very different from Zhangzhou dialect and Quanzhou dialect from the beginning, so Chaoshan dialect has seriously deviated from Quanzhou dialect. Because Chaozhou is adjacent to Zhangzhou, it is influenced by Zhangzhou dialect. Although a large number of Putian people immigrated to Hainan, Guangdong Province, a large number of Putian people still stayed in Putian, and the Putian dialect of Putian people who stayed in Putian continued to be influenced by Fuzhou dialect, which was somewhat different from Chaozhou dialect. Because Fuzhou is the provincial capital, there are many exchanges between Putian and the provincial capital, and Putian and Zhangzhou are not adjacent, so Putian dialect is more influenced by Fuzhou dialect than Quanzhou dialect, so Putian dialect is hard to be influenced by Zhangzhou dialect. Now there are some gaps between Putian dialect and Chaozhou dialect. Chaoshan has long been far away from Putian, the ancestral home of southern Fujian, not adjacent to Fuzhou, but adjacent to Zhangzhou, which is easily influenced by Zhangzhou dialect and other dialects. However, Chaoshan dialect is based on Putian dialect in southern Fujian and influenced by Zhangzhou dialect. More than half of Putian dialect and Taiwan dialect can understand each other. Putian dialect and Cantonese have a lot to communicate with each other, but some differences between Putian dialect and Cantonese are difficult. Chaoshan dialect influenced by Cantonese can still retain some features of Putian dialect.
