Introduction to Ma Chanping

In the past 30 years, groups of immigrants have moved to "Old Liangshan" areas such as Xide County, Jinyang County, Zhaojue County, meigu county County, Leibo County, Yuexi County and Butuo County. The main reason is that it can open up land for farming and it is convenient to go to the market (it takes two and a half hours to reach Manshuiwan and four hours to walk from Ercungou to Shaba). According to the estimation of local Yi people, there are more than 700 households with more than 4,000 people in Machanping, and about half of them have no hukou. Even the immigrants who originally had registered permanent residence in the place where they moved out were not recognized by the local government after they settled in Machangping, so they could not get new registered permanent residence and enjoy any benefits such as old-age care and medical insurance. They became black households. It costs 3000 yuan for a person's account to be handled in an easy intermediary. Many of them didn't get Shaba Town for economic reasons. At one time, farmers in Liangshan Prefecture 17 counties and cities were assigned three benches by the government, which was called "bench project" locally, but even this little "welfare" was not enjoyed by black households in Machanping. They are forgotten people, a group without identity.
