General situation of funerary objects in Hepu Han tomb

Located 3 kilometers southeast of Lianzhou Town, Hepu County, Guangxi, there are more than 1000 ancient Han tombs. Divided into earthen pit tombs and brick pit tombs. Thick burial prevailed in Han Dynasty, and officials, generals and southern immigrants were buried in Hepu after their death. Cultural relics unearthed in recent years include bronze phoenix lanterns, bronze houses, pearls, agates, amber, pottery houses and ceramics. These cultural relics provide physical historical materials for the study of China's ancient military, culture and art, political economy and the friendly exchanges and trade relations between our people and the people of Southeast Asian countries. It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

No.6 ancient Han tomb in Fengmenling, Hepu is the largest tomb excavated by Hepu Han Group, a national key cultural relics protection unit, in the past 32 years. It is also a relatively complete ancient Han tomb excavated in Guangxi in recent years, with a large scale, rich funerary objects and the most complete types of unearthed cultural relics. According to the preliminary inventory, more than 30 large-scale cultural relics/kloc-0 have been unearthed from Tomb No.6 of Han Dynasty, and thousands of small-scale cultural relics have been found, including bronzes, pottery, gold, silver, jade, crystals, colored glasses, agates, coins, bones, hair and powder. All the cultural relics are national treasures, including "bronze chariots and horses gunpowder" from Han Tomb No.6.

The cultural relics unearthed from Hepu Han Tomb have high research and appreciation value. They are precious materials for studying politics, military affairs, economy, culture, crafts, life and customs at that time, and reflect the prosperity of Hepu area in Han Dynasty. Among them, a large number of foreign goods, such as spices, coloured glaze, agate, amber and crystal, have been unearthed, which proves once again that Hepu Port is the earliest originating port of the ancient Maritime Silk Road in China, and it is also an indispensable material for studying the history of China's overseas trade. Hepu was in Ding Yuan in the Western Han Dynasty for 6 years, that is, 1 1 year BC. It was Hepu County, with Hainan in the south, Kaiping in Guangdong in the east and Dongxing in the west, and became the political, cultural and economic center of southern China at that time. From the excavated cultural relics, it can be seen that Hepu in Beihai is not as lacking in cultural details as some people say. On the contrary, it can even be said that the ancient culture of Hepu in Beihai is the deepest in Guangxi history.

According to the survey, Hepu Ancient Han Group has 68 square kilometers in Fiona Fang, and it is estimated that there are tens of thousands of ancient Han tombs. Since 1950s, more than 0/000 Han tombs/kloc-have been excavated in Hepu, and countless cultural relics have been unearthed. After the cultural relics are excavated and restored, the most important thing is to let them be collected and displayed in modern museums for experts to study and people to watch for generations, so that they can shine with dazzling historical brilliance. From the perspective of a cultural relic worker, cultural relics cannot be displayed or studied. As a cultural relic worker, what I hope most is that the treasures of these countries can be visited and studied by more people. Due to the limitation of conditions, Hepu old museum can no longer meet the demand of rich cultural relics resources. The Han Tomb Museum must be built as soon as possible. It is actually a rare tourist resource to build a modern museum in Beihai, a new tourist city, to collect and display local unearthed cultural relics. It not only improves the popularity of foreign tourists to see the ancient culture of Beihai, but also makes local people more aware of their profound cultural heritage and have more confidence, thus stimulating their enthusiasm for protecting cultural relics and entering a virtuous circle.

Most of the bronzes, silverware and pottery unearthed from Tomb No.6 of the Ancient Han Dynasty can be repaired for about one year. After the restoration, in accordance with the Regulations on the Protection of Cultural Relics in Guangxi Autonomous Region, the cultural relics management department of the autonomous region shall designate units with protection conditions (such as museums at all levels) for collection. Hepu County Museum may also get some cultural relics collections in different grades. By then, Beihai citizens can enjoy these precious cultural relics and see their true colors. Some particularly important cultural relics will be collected in museums in the autonomous region, but they can also be enjoyed by more people by holding roving exhibitions. It can also be copied by experts and collected by local museums for experts' study and people's appreciation, just like the bronze phoenix lantern unearthed from the tomb of King Hepu in Niu Ling in June 1972.
