1. Check object

If a China resident applies to stay in the UK for more than 6 months, you must have a tuberculosis check-up at the inspection institution to ensure that you are not infected with tuberculosis before you can apply for a visa.

2. Children's exams

All children over the age of 1 1 who apply for a British residence visa must undergo tuberculosis examination. For children under the age of 1 1, parents or guardians must take their children to the designated inspection institution to complete the health questionnaire. In addition, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by their parents or guardians when they go to the designated testing institution, and bring the materials listed under "Information required for testing".

3. Designate testing institutions

Applicants must go to any inspection agency designated by the Home Office for testing. Testing certificates issued by non-designated testing institutions are not accepted.

4. Check the required information

Identification documents containing personal photos, such as personal passports.

If you have been infected with tuberculosis or other lung diseases before, you need to submit the relevant proof of previous screening, and if possible, please also submit the previous diagnosis report and X-ray test report.

5. Test items

You need to have a chest X-ray during the examination.

6. Detection time

The detection time depends on the specific detection mechanism and its working intensity. You need to contact the relevant testing institutions for confirmation. If X-ray examination can't confirm the diagnosis, sputum samples should be kept. It takes two months to get the test results of sputum samples.

7. Test cost

The cost of chest X-ray examination is RMB in 550 yuan. This fee does not include the cost of tuberculosis treatment.

8. Exempted persons

Applicants who meet any of the following requirements do not need to be tested for tuberculosis:
