Is Anqing Jiangnan or Jiangbei?

Anqing's location is very subtle, because the Yangtze River turned from Anqing and began to go north. Therefore, Anqing, a city in the north of the Yangtze River, is actually farther south than many cities downstream of it, but its geographical location is indeed in the north of the Yangtze River.

Jiangnan in China actually has two meanings. One is that it is now geographically south of the Yangtze River; The other is historical geography, because in the Qing Dynasty, Jiangsu and Anhui were a province called jiangnan province, and the whole of Anhui and Jiangsu were called Jiangnan, especially the section from Jiangning (now Nanjing) of the Yangtze River to Suzhou, which fell to Jiangnan because of stagnation.

In addition, Anqing had a large number of immigrants in the Qing Dynasty to today's southern Shaanxi, and some elderly people among those immigrants still thought their hometown was "Anqing in the south of the Yangtze River".

This concept is very confusing. Some foreigners inherit history and think Anqing is Jiangnan, but locals think it is Jiangbei. For example, when I was a child, people from Zongyang, my hometown, crossed the river to Chizhou, saying that they would go to Jiangnan, and when they came back, they also said that they would go back to Jiangbei.

JJ Lin has a song called Jiangnan, and that Jiangnan is the Jiangnan in history.
