Why do alpine shepherds in Nepal?

1, traditional habit. Historically, Nepalese mostly engaged in farming and worked in the fields all the year round, forming the habit of barefoot. Up to now, Nepalese farmers still keep the habit of working barefoot, and only wear straw sandals when entering the city.

2. Climate issues. Nepal has a mild climate. Most areas are not cold in winter and not hot in summer. The annual minimum temperature in Kathmandu is not lower than 2 degrees Celsius above zero. The pleasant climate allows Nepalese people not to worry about keeping warm under their feet, and socks are not a necessity.
