A Review of The Shawshank Redemption

To tell the truth, I'm not a movie fan. But when I saw The Shawshank Redemption occasionally, I was deeply attracted by it. Every line and every shot of the film is worth remembering slowly. Although most of the scenes in the film are just in a gray prison, you don't feel depressed at all. Watching The Shawshank Redemption is like listening to an old friend's explanation. Maybe it's because I'm a little depressed at the moment. I think The Shawshank Redemption is a shot in the arm.

Because the warden used Andy's knowledge and talent to launder money for him, the appearance of the real murderer who killed his wife did not bring Andy a glimmer of light. The poor child disappeared forever after a conversation between the warden and him outside the prison wall (the illusion of escape), so Andy was doomed to never leave Shawshank. In our opinion, Andy should be completely desperate. However, fate favors those who are prepared. A stone hammer hidden in the Bible, a beautiful poster hanging on the wall to seal the hole, 20 years (it took 19 years to dig this hole) finally set Andy free. Believe in God, believe in yourself more, never give up hope, never give up efforts, and wait patiently for your own freedom in life. This is The Shawshank Redemption. Andy not only saved himself, saved his friend Rhett, but also saved the dark American justice.

The following only talk about some experiences of watching The Shawshank Redemption:

1, the environment changes people!

There is a line "institutionalized" in the film. The institutionalized symbol in this film is the prison librarian Lao Bu. He was imprisoned for 50 years, which almost consumed his life. However, when he learned that he was about to be released from prison, his spirit almost collapsed. He wanted to create a "murder" incident, because he could not leave the prison, and he wanted to stay in Shawshank.

The prison gave them time to be conquered by the environment, and Lao Bu became a part of the environment. Once out of the original environment, everything loses its meaning. He was deeply attached to the prison that deprived him of his freedom, so after he got out of prison, he was completely confused and finally chose to commit suicide to seek his eternal peace.

2. Even if others make mistakes, look for reasons on yourself.

Andy's wife betrayed him. Is it all her fault? Andy had to reflect on himself after his successful escape from prison. To some extent, he directed the tragedy. Andy is not the direct wife killer, but he feels deeply guilty. He was a successful man in his career and later in Shawshank, but he was a failed marriage manager.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

Andy looks very weak. On the first night in prison, Laurie lost two packs of cigarettes for him. When The Marriage of Figaro floated over the prison, all the prisoners were shocked. The most unforgettable thing is that when the inmates were drinking beer bought by Andy with courage and wisdom on the roof, Andy leaned against the low wall and showed a rare smile, just like a light that pierced the darkness. After all, this world is a world of a few elites.

Just like the famous saying in the movie: Some birds won't be caged because their feathers are so beautiful. For decades, people had to put up with it. When most prisoners have long been numb and slowly lost their desire for freedom, they can still stick to Andy's original belief in his inner world, that is, the yearning for a free life. In the vast Shawshank, for a long time, only one Andy changed Shawshank's world.

4. Don't give up, believe in God and believe in yourself.

"Hope is the best thing for people. As long as you don't give up, hope will always accompany you. "

When the prisoner entered Shawshank prison, the warden's first sentence was: "Give your soul to God and your body to me." But what is really terrible is not the high wall of Shawshank, but the courage and hope of prisoners are gradually polished away by the institutionalization of prisons.

However, when Andy risked being pushed off the roof by the warden and traded his partner for beer to evade taxes for the police, when Andy insisted on writing to the government for six years and finally ushered in Shawshank's prisoner library and workshop, and when Mozart's The Wedding of Figaro floated over the prison, there was only one reason: no matter how decadent and unruly we are, we must never give up our ideals and hopes, and human beings should pursue freedom and justice.
