What should I pay attention to when applying for a Latvian tourist visa?

1. Latvia is a Schengen country. Citizens from Chinese mainland must complete their visas before going to Latvia with ordinary or official passports. The visa-free period for holders of diplomatic passports shall not exceed 90 days, and for holders of Hong Kong or Macao SAR passports shall not exceed 90 days.

Two. The materials required to apply for a Latvian visa should be complete:

1. Passport (Passport should be valid for more than three months after visa stay).

2. The applicant fills in the visa application form online, prints it and signs it (/kloc-applicants under the age of 0/8 must be signed by both parents or legal guardians), and attaches a light background color photo of the last 6 months, with the size of 35x45.

3. Travel medical insurance: Travel medical insurance must cover all Schengen areas, and the validity period must exceed the stay time in Schengen area, and the insured amount is not less than 30,000 euros. The insurance covers emergency medical treatment, emergency medical transport and body transport. If applying for a single entry visa, the applicant should also submit an insurance statement.

4. Original and photocopy of ID card and household registration book (without translation).

5. Proof of funds (bank statement for the last 3 months, no proof of deposit).

6. Travel itinerary and proof of accommodation.

7. Other materials:

Minors (/kloc-under 0/8 years old) must provide student ID card, original certificate issued by the school (including school address and telephone number, leave certificate, name and position of approver) and notarized proof of kinship or guardianship (certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Minors traveling alone or with one of their parents must provide a notarial certificate of consent to travel issued by both parents or legal guardians (certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

On-the-job personnel must provide a copy of the company's business license stamped by the work unit, a letter of confirmation issued by the employer (English document or Chinese document with English translation) and a certificate of leave permission.

Married non-working adults must provide notarial certificate of marriage relationship (certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and proof of spouse's employment and income; Unmarried people must provide other proof of fixed income.

Retirees need to provide pension or other proof of fixed income.

3. Visa generally takes 5_ 10 working days. Please apply in advance.

From 4.20 15, 10 and 12, except for diplomatic passport holders and children under the age of 12, other people who apply for Schengen visas for the first time must leave their fingerprints at Latvian embassies and consulates or Schengen visa application centers, and do not need to collect fingerprints to apply for visas in the next 59 months.
