Historical evolution of Nanfeng Town

Before 1952, Nanfeng was under the jurisdiction of Luyi County, Laozi’s hometown. In August 1952, the Government Affairs Council officially approved the establishment of Dancheng County, and Nanfeng was placed under Dancheng County. Nanfeng Commune was built in 1976, changed to a township in 1982, and to a town in 1987. Before a town (township or commune) was established, it was an ordinary rural market town. Because there is a towering ancient willow in the center of the block (now the Zhangwan intersection of line S329), it is called Guliuhui. In 1997, it covered an area of ??73.1 square kilometers, a population of 50,000, and 28 administrative villages.
