What race are Puerto Ricans?

Puerto Rico is a country in North America or the 51st state of the United States. Whites of European ancestry account for about 73% of all residents, mixed-race people account for 23%, and blacks account for 4%. There are also more than 20,000 Americans and immigrants from other countries. The aboriginal people were Indians, who later became a Spanish settlement. The Indians were wiped out, Europeans moved in, and black slaves were brought in as laborers. After the Americans defeated the Spanish, Poland became an American colony.
