Why are there so many countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, but the Australian continent has never been divided into multiple countries and has only one country?

This is caused by a series of geographical and historical factors. Each region is different. Let’s talk about it one by one below:

1. Australia:

A) History Factors - Australia is a purely immigrant country. There were no human beings here before the colonial era. Australia was founded purely by the British. The predecessors of Australians are basically pure Anglo-Saxon blood, and there is no language, ethnicity, or religion. Isolation naturally has the prerequisite for becoming a country;

B) Geographical factors-Australia’s population is concentrated in the narrow area around Sydney, and the central and western regions are large areas of desert that are not suitable for human survival. If you want to divide the country, it will be difficult to divide the densely populated areas in the east. If you divide the west, you will find that there are few living people on one side, and it is impossible to establish a country at all.

2. Africa and the Americas:

A) Historical factors - the geographical formation of Africa and the Americas is a product of the colonial era, and the boundaries are the boundaries of the colonies of different European countries. Different languages ??have been produced according to different colonial countries. For example, Portuguese-Spanish in South America is the decomposition of countries. Congo in Africa was once called "French Congo". Adjacent African countries are often called "French Congo". The official languages ??are different, and they are all European languages;

B) Geographic factors - Africa and the Americas have relatively few boundaries due to geographical factors, so you can see various horizontal and vertical tic-tac-toe-shaped national borders. Obviously, when the colonies were demarcated, the colonists drew a straight line across them. Over time, different languages ??were formed, and the geographical decomposition conditions of these places themselves are not obvious;

3. Asia, Europe:

A) Geographic factors - The national borders of the Eurasian continent are mostly divided by geographical factors. For example, the most typical ones are the Himalayas on the Sino-Indian border and the Kunlun Mountains on the western border of my country. The ancients simply did not have the ability to cross these. It is difficult to communicate through natural obstacles, let alone conquer and become the same country. The Alps, Pyrenees, and English Channel in Europe are all typical geographical boundaries;

B) Historical factors-similar to the fragments of Central Europe The phenomenon of culturalization and the division of the German-speaking area (Germany, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc.) is a typical sequela of the Thirty Years' War. Richelieu's "Treaty of Westphalia" dismembered the German-speaking area for more than 500 years. Even if the treaty is gone, there will be no reunification; Switzerland was divided because of the Huguenot Massacre; Southeast Asia was fragmented because of the colonization of different countries; the Middle East and the Balkans were fragmented because of the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War I.
