Recently, there have been many cases in which China citizens encountered various problems when going through immigration formalities in Malaysia, resulting in failure to leave the country on time, being fined or detained. In order to reduce the occurrence of such problems and facilitate the entry and exit of Malaysian citizens, the Embassy of China in Malaysia hereby reminds citizens in China, Malaysia:

First, when going through the immigration formalities, we must pay attention to whether the passport is stamped with an immigration stamp.

When you retrieve your passport from the entry-exit counter (Kuala Lumpur airport counter, see attached figure 1), please be sure to check whether your passport is stamped with the entry stamp (see attached figure 2 for reference style). If it is not stamped, it should be filled in by the immigration officer immediately.

Please pay attention to whether the entry date and stay time are indicated on the entry stamp.

Please pay attention to check whether the entry stamp stamped on your passport indicates the accurate entry date and stay time (see attached figure 2 for the entry date and stay time style), and sometimes the latest departure date will replace the stay time. If it is found that it is not indicated, the immigration officer should be asked to indicate it on the spot immediately.

Three, after leaving the country at the exit port, it is found that the entry seal is not stamped or dated, and the relevant formalities must be handled in time before leaving the country.

If you find that your passport has no entry stamp after leaving the country, or the entry date and stay time are not marked on the entry stamp, you will not be able to leave the country. You must go to AMC building near Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or Malaysian Immigration Headquarters in Putrajaya during office hours from Monday to Friday before you can leave the country. Please take good care of your boarding pass and other materials that can prove the time of entry, so that you can show them to the immigration bureau when you reissue them.

Please pay attention to the actual stay time indicated on the entry stamp and leave the country before the expiration.

Please pay attention to the stay time indicated on the immigration stamp. Sometimes, the stay time indicated by Malaysian immigration officials on the entry stamp will be shorter than the maximum stay time of the visa type held by passengers. For example, entry visa holders can stay for 15 days at most, but immigration officials may indicate in the entry stamp that passengers are only allowed to stay for 7 days, so passengers should leave the country within 7 days of entry, otherwise they will be fined or detained if they overstay their stay.

Please pay attention to the special instructions of immigration officials.

Sometimes, immigration officials will make some tips on the immigration stamp. Passengers should pay attention to whether there are any special marks when they retrieve their passports and check their entry stamps. If yes, please consult in time. For example, for those who come to Malaysia frequently in a short period of time, immigration officials will mark their passports and ask passengers to report to the immigration office within a specified time limit. Relevant personnel should comply with the requirements of the Immigration Bureau and report to the general headquarters of the Immigration Bureau within the prescribed time limit. Failure to report within the prescribed time limit shall be deemed as overstaying.

6. When entering and leaving Sabah and Sarawak in East Malaysia, you should pay attention to stamping the entry and exit stamps.

Since Sabah and Sarawak in East Malaysia have the right of immigration autonomy, special attention should be paid to entering and leaving the above two States: whether entering from foreign countries or other Malaysian States, passengers must go through entry and exit procedures at the airport and affix their entry and exit stamps before departure. Entry and exit stamps are sometimes stamped on passports or boarding passes, and sometimes on eNTRI visa-free papers. Passengers should pay attention to whether the entry and exit stamps are stamped, and keep their boarding passes and visa-free papers well.

If you find that there is no stamp at the airport, you should immediately return to the entry-exit counter to request a replacement; If you leave the airport and find that your seal is not stamped, you should go to the state immigration office to apply for a new seal, and provide boarding passes, travel itinerary and other materials as much as possible, patiently communicate with immigration officials and cooperate with their work.

Seven, overstaying should take the initiative to report to the Malaysian Immigration Headquarters in a timely manner.

Overstaying in Malaysia violates Malaysian immigration law. If China citizens overstay their stay in Malaysia, it is suggested that they take the initiative to report to the headquarters of the Immigration Bureau in Buchengma, and provide relevant materials that can prove the entry time, explain the situation as much as possible and strive for the lowest punishment. If you are accompanied by local relatives and friends or translators in Malaysia, it will be convenient for communication and explanation. The Malaysian Immigration Bureau will generally impose a fine on those who take the initiative to declare in time and issue exit certificates. Those who fail to declare voluntarily may be detained, face court and be severely punished once they are found.

8. If you encounter language or situation communication difficulties when entering Kuala Lumpur Airport 1 and 2, please seek help from the volunteer service counter of "China Passenger Communication Coordination Office" located near the arrival counters of the two airports.
