What do I need to bring to study in Canada?

Students need to pack their bags before going to Canada for university. So what do you need to bring to study in Canada? Many international students are not clear about this problem. Let's talk about luggage preparation before studying in Canada.

First of all, the items that must be put in the luggage

1. Underwear and socks that can be replaced within at least 2 weeks. Although it is convenient to shop in Canada, it is unrealistic to go to the shopping center immediately after arrival to buy personal clothes that need to be changed frequently. Get ready for the necessary change of clothes, not only to avoid unnecessary trouble, but also for personal hygiene.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine for adjusting acclimatization. After a long flight and a completely different living environment, acclimatization often occurs. For example, over-the-counter drugs such as Huoxiang Zhengqi and Niuhuang Shangqing should be carried. You should go to the hospital to consult a doctor about what medicine you are suitable for.

3. documents. You don't have to carry your ID card with you in China, but your passport is inevitable. Otherwise you can't leave the country. If you have a driver's license in China, please take it with you.

4. Admission certificate, extra transcripts, and originals of all documents issued by the embassy. After entering Canada, the Immigration Bureau will re-examine your entry qualification and issue a student ID card. This information is sometimes asked. Get ready.

5. Credit card. Whether staying in a hotel, buying a mobile phone or shopping, a credit card is very necessary. Applying for a supplementary card (or main card) of a credit card before going abroad will be of great help to your later life.

6. A certain amount of cash. No matter how many cards you have, there is still a place that only accepts cash. Take about 500 Canadian dollars in cash with you, which is enough to meet your temporary cash expenses for a few days after you enter the country.

7. Instant noodles and biscuits. I believe that when you arrive in Canada, someone will take you to your residence. But there are always accidents, so prepare 2 or 3 packets of instant noodles or biscuits in case of emergency.

8. Safety Manual for Going Abroad. When you are away from home, safety comes first. This safety manual can be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or your intermediary.

9. Slippers, bath towels and toothbrushes. There are no slippers and toothbrushes in foreign hotels. It is also unrealistic to buy it on the day of entry. So you need to prepare 1 pairs of toothbrushes and slippers.

Second, leave the country.

1. Arrive at the airport 3 hours in advance.

2. Domestic exit procedures: different airlines enter the corresponding terminal-find the check-in counter where the flight belongs and check their luggage-enter the customs hall for customs clearance-security check-wait for boarding at the corresponding boarding gate-board the plane (sit according to the boarding pass seat number, and be in the front row if you arrive early);

3. Flight time: Beijing-Vancouver: about 1 1 hour; Beijing-Toronto: about 13 hours;

4. Fill in the customs declaration card

Under normal circumstances, before the plane lands, the flight attendant will issue a customs declaration form to the passengers for you to fill out (take a pen with you), or you can directly ask the flight attendant for it, which will speed up the customs clearance efficiency after you get off the plane. Of course, there is also a place to fill in the declaration card at the place of entry, so it doesn't matter if you don't get it on the plane.

The customs declaration card requires you to fill in some information related to you, so that CBSA (Canada Border Service Agency) can know your basic situation and luggage. If it is a family, you can fill it in an entry card, and each entry card can write up to four people's information. On the left of the pass is the area description filled in on the right, which can be folded, but not on the right.

Third, study abroad and enter the customs.

Here, the immigration officer will check your customs declaration card, your passport and visa, and confirm the purpose of your visit (so it will save you a lot of things to have an itinerary and even book hotel and return air tickets). The inspector will ask you some questions at random, including the purpose of your coming to Canada, what you brought, and so on. Please answer truthfully. If you really need help, you can also find a Chinese translator. After the inspection officer stamps, you can wait for your checked baggage.

Next, you must go through the second Canadian border service checkpoint. The inspection here is mainly aimed at the luggage you carry. If you bring a gift to someone, it is recommended that you don't pack it in advance, because the inspection official may open the package you prepared to make sure that you have no contraband.

If you didn't bring anything troublesome, you have successfully embarked on a pleasant trip to Canada at this moment ~ of course, you may also encounter a second inspection. Please don't be nervous about it, because it may just be a spot check. There must be something wrong with you.

Generally speaking, the reasons for being asked for a second inspection mainly include spot checking, verifying your relevant materials, asking you more relevant questions and checking your luggage, reconfirming the legality of your arrival in Canada and your belongings, and so on. Even if you need a second inspection, as long as you answer truthfully and fill in the previous declaration card truthfully, there will generally be no problem.
