A brief introduction to the history of Liaoyang
1. Liaoyang has a long history. According to archaeological evidence, humans were active and developed in the Liaoyang area as far back as six or seven thousand years ago. At the end of the Warring States Period in the third century BC, the administrative structure of a national administrative district began to appear. Until the seventeenth century, it remained the political, economic, and cultural center, transportation hub, and military center of Northeast China.
2. Before the Spring and Autumn Period, the Liaoyang area was the place where the Donghu people and Yin Shang immigrants lived. According to "Shangshu", Liaoyang belonged to the Yingzhou area during the Xia and Shang Dynasties. This was only a natural division and did not have a national administrative region. Significance; Liaoyang in the Zhou Dynasty was the territory of the Jishi North Korea; from 248 to 279 BC (the 28th to 33rd years of King Zhao of Yan), Qin Kai, the legacy general of the Yan State, attacked Donghu and Jishi North Korea, "taking the land "Two Thousand Miles", in the Liaohe River Basin, Liaodong County was established and Xiangping County was established at the same time. The county and county seat is Xiangping City (now the old city of Liaoyang City).
3. In 222 AD (the twenty-fifth year of the First Emperor), Qin destroyed Yan, unified the local government, abolished feudalism, and established prefectures and counties. Xiangping County was still under the jurisdiction of Liaodong County. The Han Dynasty inherited the Qin system, and the Liaodong prefectures and prefectures in the Western Han Dynasty were still located in Xiangping County. The county governs 18 counties, of which Xiangping, Jujiu and Liaodui counties are in the present territory of Liaoyang. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Gongsun Du, the prefect of Liaodong, established himself as Marquis of Liaodong, established Pingzhou and governed Xiangping. After his grandson Gongsun Yuan came to power, he established himself as the King of Pingzhou and soon proclaimed himself a vassal in Soochow.

In 238 AD (the second year of Wei Jingchu), Sima Yi destroyed the Gongsun family, and Liaodong County was included in the territory of Wei State, and Pingzhou was established, with jurisdiction over five Liaodong counties, and Dongyi Xiaowei was established in Xiangping. Later, Pingzhou merged with Youzhou. In 274 AD (the tenth year of the first Qin Dynasty of Emperor Wu of the Jin Dynasty), Pingzhou was restored and Xiangping was governed. It governs the three counties of Liaodong, Xuantu and Changli. Among them, Liaodong County governs eight counties, with Xiangping as the head county. Soon Sima Rui became the king of Liaodong, and Liaodong County was once called the Liaodong Kingdom and still governed Xiangping. Since then, the local governments of Qian Yan, Qian Qin, and Later Yan all belonged to Liaodong County and governed Xiangping. At the end of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Goguryeo tribe emerged. In 404 AD (the third year of Yuanxing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty), Goguryeo occupied Liaodong and changed Xiangping City to Liaodong City. The name Xiangping City was first called by the Yan Kingdom and was abolished.
5. In the Sui Dynasty, Liaodong was still occupied by Goguryeo. The Sui Dynasty did not tolerate the existence of separatist forces and sent troops to Liaodong three times, but all failed. In 645 AD (the 19th year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty), Emperor Taizong Li Shimin led his army to conquer Goguryeo, captured Liaodong City, and established Liaozhou. The following year, Liaozhou was dismissed and the Andong Protectorate was established. In 676 AD (the first year of Yifeng), the Andong Protectorate moved to Liaodong City.
6. At the beginning of the tenth century, the Khitan people rose up and established the Liao Kingdom. In 918 AD (the third year of Liao Shence), Taizu Taizu of the Liao Dynasty captured Liaodong City and established Liaoyang Prefecture. In the second year, he repaired the old city and changed it to Dongping County; in 928 AD (the third year of Tianxian Dynasty), Liaoyang Prefecture was changed to Nanjing. And moved the capital of Dongdan Kingdom to Liaoyang. As the companion capital of the Liao Kingdom and one of the Five Capitals, the Dongdan Kingdom has existed in Liaoyang for more than 50 years. In 1116 AD, the Jin Kingdom established by the emerging Jurchen tribe conquered the Liaoyang Prefecture in Tokyo, Liaoning. The Jin Dynasty invaded the Liao system and made Liaoyang the capital of Tokyo. It was still the capital of the country. Later, it was changed from Tokyo Road Liaoyang Prefecture to Tokyo Road Liaoyang Prefecture, and both roads and prefectures were governed. Liaoyang Old Town. Liaoyang Prefecture governs four counties and one town: Liaoyang County, Heye County, Yifeng County, Shicheng County, and Changyi Town (affiliated to Heye).

After the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty, the Xingzhongshu Province was established in Liaoyang and other places in 1287 AD (the twenty-fourth year of the reign of Emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty). The province directly governs seven roads and one prefecture, and the provincial and road administrative offices are all in Liaoyang City; Liaoyang Road governs Liaoyang, Gaizhou, and Yizhou counties. In the Ming Dynasty, the military and military system was implemented in Feizhou County in Liaodong. In 1384 AD (the seventeenth year of Hongwu), Liao Zhongwei was established and Liaoyang City was governed. The headquarters of the Liaodong Capital Commander is also in Liaoyang. Liaodong Dusi had jurisdiction over twenty-five guards and two prefectures, and its jurisdiction was equivalent to most of the current Liaoning Province. In 1621 AD (the first year of Tianming of the Later Jin Dynasty), Liaoyang was captured by the Later Jin Dynasty. At that time, Nurhachi established his capital in Liaoyang and built a new city, Tokyo City, on the east bank of the Taizi River. Three years later, he moved the capital to Shenyang. In 1653 AD (the tenth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty), a government was established in Liaoyang, which administered two counties: Liaoyang and Haicheng. Both the government and the county governed the old city of Liaoyang, and soon the government was moved to Shenyang. In 1664 (the third year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty), Liaoyang County was promoted to Liaoyang Prefecture, under the jurisdiction of Fengtian Prefecture. This organizational system continued until the end of the Qing Dynasty.
8. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Liaoyang was changed into a county and belonged to Liaoshen Road. In 1929, it belonged to Liaoning Province.
After the "September 18th" Incident in 1931, Liaoyang belonged to the puppet Fengtian Province. Liaoyang City was established in August 1937. The Liaoning Provincial People's Government was established in 1945. Liaoyang City belongs to the First Administrative Supervisory Commissioner's Office, which is located in Liaoyang City, and Liaoyang County is one of the counties under its jurisdiction. During the Kuomintang period, in October 1946, Liaoyang City was merged into Liaoyang County and belonged to Liaoning Province.
9. After the liberation of Liaoyang, in July 1948, it became a special agency of Liaoning Province, located in Liaoyang City, and Liaoyang County was one of the counties under its jurisdiction. In 1949, it belonged to Liaodong Province, and Liaoyang County became a provincial county. In 1956, the Liaoyang Prefecture was established, the office was located in Liaoyang City, and Liaoyang County belonged to the Liaoyang Prefecture. In 1959, the special district system was abolished and Liaoyang County was merged into Liaoyang City. In 1960, Liaoyang County was rebuilt and belonged to Anshan. In 1965, Liaoyang County was changed to the Liaonan Special Administration Bureau, and Liaoyang City was changed to a provincial municipality. In 1975, Liaoyang City governed two urban areas: Wensheng and Baita, and three rural areas: Shaling, Dingtao and Lanjia. In 1980, the county system of Liaoyang was restored and the county was located in Shoushan Town. Dengta County was established and the county was located in Dengta Town. Since 1982, Hongwei District and Gongchangling District have been established successively, and the suburbs of Liaoyang City have been renamed Taizihe District. In 1996, Lighthouse was removed from the county and established as a city. So far, Liaoyang City has jurisdiction over two counties (cities) and five districts, namely: Liaoyang County, Dengta City, Baita District, Wensheng District, Hongwei District, Gongchangling District, and Taizihe District.
