Jieyang dialect originated from Putian dialect of Minnan dialect. Wen Jie can be said to be the corresponding word read in Jieyang, and its corresponding pronunciation can be found in Jieyang dialect. Its characteristics can be summarized as special grammar, rich vocabulary, unique phonology and rich ancient semantics. For example, modern Chinese is spelled with four tones, but Jieyang dialect still retains the phonetic system of spelled with eight tones, with complex pronunciation and too many dialects, which are difficult for outsiders to learn; In Jieyang dialect, guests call guests, hens call hens, walking calls walking, iron pots call ding, bottles call bottles and so on; The ancient Chinese in Jieyang dialect is well preserved, and the word Jieyang is vague.
