What is the difference between low-structure teaching and high-structure teaching?

Structured teaching method is put forward by the Department of Psychiatry of the University of North Carolina in the book "Treatment and Education of Children with Autism TLC and Related Communication Disorders", which specializes in researching, supporting and promoting the education of autistic children. Structuared Teaching, also known as systematic teaching, is a teaching method that arranges learning environment, learning materials and learning procedures systematically according to children's learning characteristics, so that children can learn from them according to the designed structure. Its basic idea is to systematically arrange teaching space, teaching equipment, time arrangement, communication methods and teaching means to form a model, so as to organically integrate various teaching factors and help autistic children learn in all directions. Low-structure teaching refers to inefficient teaching, while high-structure teaching refers to high-quality and efficient teaching methods.

The difference between the two:

1 Low-structure teaching is decided by both children and teachers, while the learning objectives of high-structure teaching are mainly decided by teachers;

2. Low-structure teaching is mainly initiated by children, while high-structure teaching is mainly initiated by teachers;

The motivation of low-structure teaching activities is mainly children's needs, while the motivation of high-structure teaching activities is mainly teachers' rewards and punishments;
