Rauno The Legal System of Entry-Exit Control, Stay and Residence Permit of the Macao Special Administrative Region 16/202 1 was passed by the Legislative Council on August 5, 200218, and then promulgated on August 6, 200218. Administrative Regulation No.38/2021was promulgated today (8th). The above laws and administrative regulations shall come into force on the same day as 2021115.

The above-mentioned new administrative regulations include: administrative procedures for granting entry, stay and residence permits to the Macao Special Administrative Region, documents other than passports and travel documents accepted for entry and exit control, the minimum remaining validity period of entry and exit documents, the special stay permit system, and two relatively important fees for residence permits and extension of renewal.

Compared with the original provisions, the main contents of the new administrative regulations include:

Increase the minimum validity period of entry and exit documents to 90 days after the limit of stay is granted;

Increase special permission to provide services within the scope of cooperation activities between public entities, perform the duties of arbitrators, perform the duties of representatives within the scope of intergovernmental or interregional cooperation, and stay for traditional vendors;

Adjust the provisions on the validity period and renewal of residence permit, especially cancel the provision that residence permit can be renewed within 180 days after the expiration of the original system, clarify that residence permit will be invalid due to the expiration of the validity period, and set up transitional arrangements for renewal.
