Leaders pay attention to Shatuo Hydropower Station

On April 16, 2008, Lin Shusen, Governor of Guizhou Province, accompanied by Zhang, Chairman of Guizhou Wujiang Development Co., Ltd., inspected the construction site of Shatuo Hydropower Station, a project of "Power Transmission from the West to the East" and Wujiang Dream Realization under construction. On behalf of the provincial party Committee and the provincial government, he expressed cordial condolences to all the participating units, owners and employees of Shatuo Hydropower Station.

As soon as Governor Lin arrived at the construction site, he drove to the observation deck, overlooking the whole construction site, and listened to Wu Yuandong, manager of Shatuo Power Station Construction Company, Jiang Haizhu, secretary of the Party Committee, relevant design and construction technicians, and Zhang Yihao, county magistrate of Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County, about the project construction and resettlement. Seeing that the early construction of Shatuo Hydropower Station is progressing rapidly, and the personnel of all participating units are full of enthusiasm, Governor Lin has high hopes for Shatuo Hydropower Station. He said that Shatuo Power Station should use advanced science and technology to improve the engineering level, constantly sum up experience, deepen the long-term planning of Wujiang Company put forward by General Secretary Hu Jintao, and make more contributions to the economic and social development and people of Guizhou.

After listening to manager Wu Yuandong's introduction before the construction layout, Governor Lin specifically inquired about the engineering technical indicators. He pointed out that the construction of Shatuo Hydropower Station is the last stage of cascade development of Wujiang River. In the face of this dream come true project, all participating units should seize the opportunity, and Qi Xin should work together with Qixin to strive for the early completion and commissioning of Shatuo Hydropower Station. Governor Lin said that the country now attaches great importance to the development of the electric power industry. Since the freezing disaster once in 50 years, the provincial party committee and government have put forward new requirements for electric power construction. Hydropower construction should start from project preparation, and the whole construction process should have new ideas, new requirements and new development speed. Shatuo Hydropower Station should be built with high speed and high quality.

Governor Lin stressed that local governments should conscientiously do a good job in resettlement work, properly handle the problem of farmers' resettlement on the premise that owners cooperate with the government, create a development foundation for farmers to get rid of poverty and become rich and well-off, and create a new situation in resettlement work of Shatuo Hydropower Station.
