Immigration history in Oahu

The earliest inhabitants of Oahu were Polynesians who settled here by canoe. They fish, farm and live a self-sufficient life. With the increase of immigrants, life on Oahu has become very diverse: British Captain Cook, French and Russian businessmen, American whalers and missionaries, and laborers from China and Japan.
