Overview of Songyan Town

Songyan Town is located in the southeast corner of Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, bordering Meitan Chaole and Fenggang Yachuan. It is the window for Yuqing County to communicate with the outside world and is known as the "North Gate" of Yuqing. The town has a radius of 136.8 square kilometers, a cultivated land area of ??37,000 acres, a forest coverage rate of more than 50%, an urban area of ??2.5 square kilometers, and jurisdiction over 7 villages and 1 community with a population of more than 33,000 people. The per capita net income of farmers is 5,000 yuan. The town has more than 7,000 acres of tea gardens, 20,000 acres of high-quality rice base, and 13,000 acres of flue-cured tobacco. Since being listed as one of the first batch of urban-rural integration pilot towns in Zunyi City in December 2008, pilot work has been carried out around the "four modernizations construction", which has effectively promoted sound and rapid economic development.
