An inexperienced actress was invited to star in a film adapted from Possession by the former Soviet writer Dostoevsky. The film is directed by Czech immigrants living in Paris. He controls the actress's life. Soon, actresses can't tell the difference between performance and reality. In the end, she played the dead wife of another Czech immigrant in reality. Because of the director's manipulation, she was involved in a political assassination plot.
