National University of Japan is a private university with a long history. Founded in Meiji 15 (AD 1882), it has a history of 126 years. During the Meiji Restoration, Japan stepped out of its long-term isolation, imported a large number of European and American ideas and cultures, and learned western ideas and systems. The whole country is totally inclined to western civilization. During the fourth year of Meiji (A.D. 187 1) and the sixth year of Meiji (A.D. 1873), the Japanese government organized many "Iwakura Diplomatic Missions" to learn from the ideological civilization of European and American countries. Japanese scholars believe that this is the only way for the country to realize modernization and become a world power. At the same time, some people of insight in the Meiji era expressed concern about accepting western civilization without criticism and unconditionally at that time, and many of them were members of the Iwakura Diplomatic Corps. After the Meiji Restoration, these people of insight suggested that the national morality established after the Meiji Restoration should be the foundation of the country. They stressed that while learning from other countries' civilizations, we must inherit the excellent traditions of our own national culture. Based on this cultural concept, these people of insight initiated and established the "Japanese Classics Institute" in Meiji 15 (A.D. 1882), and its address was in Iida-CHO, Tokyo, which was the predecessor of the national university.

The first president of the Institute of Japanese Classics was Prince Akihito of Yukawa Palace. The prince put forward in the "Proclamation" of the founding of the hospital: "The way of learning is the foundation of the country, the source of moral character and the responsibility of life." This fundamental discipline is the purpose of the establishment of the "Japanese Classic Institute" and the purpose of running a national university today. In the past 100 years, this learning and research institution has evolved several times until it has developed into a modern university. In Meiji 2 1 year (A.D. 1888), a supplementary middle school was established by the Japan Institute of Economics to educate young people. In April of the 37th year of Meiji (A.D. 1903), this institution officially became a "private national college", and started the preparatory and undergraduate education of universities. In June of the 39th year of Meiji (A.D. 1906), it was renamed as "Private National College University"; In the eighth year of Dazheng (A.D. 19 19), it was renamed as "National College University". Now the university headquarters is in Shibuya, Tokyo.

China National University is divided into four departments: Literature Department, Economics Department, Law Department and Shinto Culture Department. The majors under the Department of Literature are: philosophy, history, Japanese literature, China literature and foreign language culturology; The majors under the Department of Economics are: Economics, Management, etc. The law department only has a law major; Shinto culture department only offers Shinto culture and chemistry. Shinto Culture Department is a newly established major, which was established in April of Heisei 14 (AD 2002). The main purpose of establishing this department is to inherit the spirit of establishing a school, expand the scope of Shinto research and train full-time Shinto researchers. There are many intersections between the talent training and academic research of this department and the literature department.
