New entry regulations for foreigners

Legal analysis: After foreigners arrive at the first port of entry in China, they will be tested for nucleic acid at the airport and quarantined at the designated place for 14-28 days (centralized quarantine medical observation 14 days+home quarantine medical observation for 7 days to 14 days). During and at the end of the quarantine, foreigners also need to conduct multiple nucleic acid tests according to the requirements of the local epidemic prevention and control center. If all the test results are negative, foreigners can end the quarantine.

Legal basis: Announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Administration of Immigration of People's Republic of China (PRC) on allowing foreigners to enter the country with three valid residence certificates. According to the current epidemic situation in COVID-19 and the need for prevention and control, some measures in the Announcement on Temporary Stopping the Entry of Foreigners with Valid Chinese Visa and Residence Permit jointly issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Administration of Immigration on March 26th, 2020 are adjusted as follows: From 00: 00 on September 28th, 2020, foreigners are allowed to enter the country. If the above-mentioned three types of residence permits held by foreigners expire after 0: 00 on March 28th, 2020, the holders can apply for corresponding visas to China embassies and consulates abroad with the expired residence permits and related materials on the premise that the reasons for coming to China remain unchanged. The above personnel shall strictly abide by the epidemic prevention laws and regulations of China. On March 26, it was announced that other measures would continue to be implemented. On the premise of ensuring epidemic prevention safety, China will gradually and orderly resume personnel exchanges between China and foreign countries.
