Modern history of Vietnam

1904, Vietnamese bourgeois nationalist revolutionary Pan went into exile and established the Vietnam Reform Association. Later, in 19 12, he saw the success of the Revolution of 1911 in China, and was reorganized into the China-Guangzhou Vietnamese Recovery Association. Members of this group once sneaked back to Vietnam to launch an armed uprising, trying to overthrow the French colonial regime, but failed because of hasty action and backward equipment.

Later, Pan Yu 1925 [3] was kidnapped by agents of the French colonial regime and sent back to Vietnam to live under house arrest. 1930, Ho Chi Minh, a Vietnamese revolutionary, received Moscow's assistance in the Soviet Union, established the * * * Production Party in zhina, and began to lead the anti-colonial movement in North Vietnam.

1940, Japan invaded Vietnam. In order to resist Japanese aggression, the United States provided military support to the revolutionary forces of Ho Chi Minh, and promised to support Vietnam in seeking independence after the war.

1945, the Japanese army announced its surrender, and Ho Chi Minh declared independence in Hanoi and established the "Democratic Republic of Vietnam". However, the United States reached a secret agreement with the French government to continue to let the French colonial regime rule Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh turned to the Soviet Union for support.

1954, under the command and assistance of People's Republic of China (PRC), the North Vietnamese army once again declared its independence after winning a major victory in the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, and immediately gained wider support from the Soviet Union and China.

In order to fight against North Vietnam led by Ho Chi Minh, the French government announced at the Geneva Peace Conference (1954) that it would hand over the political power to Phuc Thien Nguyen, the last emperor of Ruan Dynasty, and set up a South Vietnamese government called "Vietnam State" to fight against the North Vietnamese government led by Ho Chi Minh. Phuc Thien Nguyen also appointed Wu Tingyan as Prime Minister.

1955, with the support of the United States, Wu Tingyan signed a decree to abolish the royal family and declared himself the "President of the Republic of Vietnam".
