What are the easy ways to study in America?

For students studying in the United States for the first time, they may not know much about the entry and exit methods in the United States. If they want to enter and leave the country easily, they need to master the methods. The following are the methods I shared to study in the United States. Let's have a look.

Simple entry and exit methods for studying in the United States

1. When staying in the United States, you should take your passport, air ticket, admission notice, invitation letter, proof of funds, American address, telephone number and other important information with you, and don't put it in your luggage.

That's the point. Children's shoes studying in the United States should never leave important documents lying around, especially ponies and tigers. It's best to put them in a folder and take them with you.

When the plane is about to arrive in the United States, the flight attendant will usually provide you with the American entry card and customs declaration form.

Please fill them out and put them with your passport, visa, admission notice, invitation letter, etc. , and submit it to the US Immigration officials for inspection upon arrival at the port of entry.

There are three channels for doctoral students studying in the United States to enter the port: British passports of American citizens, ECCOUNTRIES in European countries, and OTHERPASSPORTS in other countries.

China citizens should generally choose other countries' citizen channels for entry formalities.

Generally, immigration officers will first find out the identity or reasons of immigrants coming to Britain, such as students, business, visiting relatives and so on. And then ask for relevant supporting documents, such as admission notice, invitation letter, etc.

Please claim your baggage on the baggage carousel of your flight. If you find that your luggage is lost, you should report it to the airline with a baggage consignment note and get the certificate of loss reporting before you can go through customs clearance.

When studying abroad, please exchange pounds for consumption at airports, banks or some foreign currency exchange points in big cities. Pound coins are divided into: 2 pounds, 1 pound, 50p, 20p, 1 0p, 5p, 2p and1penny; Paper money is divided into: 50, 20, 10 and 5.

Or you can change some pounds on your body before you leave China. Remember, after the new policy of studying abroad for doctoral students is put forward, you can help everyone out of the predicament, try not to burden yourself too much, and you can ask for some small pounds.

Precautions for entering the United States

First, the preparation before departure

Students or exchange visitors who come to the United States with non-immigrant visas must carefully check whether the following documents are ready before coming to the United States:

1. Check whether your passport and visa are still valid when you enter the United States. The passport should be valid for at least six months longer than the date you plan to leave the United States.

2. Check whether your visa is exactly the same as the type of visa you should hold.

3. Check whether the name of the school or exchange program listed on the visa is accurate. If not, please contact the embassy immediately to issue a new card.

4. The first time you come to the United States with a non-immigrant visa, the time to enter the country in advance can only be 30 days before the class starts.

When you get a non-immigrant visa, the consular officer will seal your visa file in an envelope and stick it on your passport. Please don't open this envelope! This envelope will be unsealed by customs and border protection officials at the entry port of the United States.

6. Please take your passport with you, including the envelope with visa file attached to it, visa, I-20 AB form, I-20MN form or DS-20 19 form of student and exchange visitor information system, and proof of economic source. In addition, students/exchange visitors' identification, recent tuition receipts, transcripts, names and contact information of designated school leaders or project managers who are scheduled to go to school, and some stationery. Please don't put the relevant documents in the consignment! Because if your luggage is lost or not delivered in time, you will not be able to show the relevant documents to the officials of the customs and border defense bureau, which may lead to your inability to enter the country.

Entry procedures for studying in the United States

1, on the plane

The stewardess will issue the I-94 entry and exit card and the CF-6059 customs declaration form.

I-94 card: It is a white cardboard form printed by the US Immigration Bureau in English, also known as the entry-exit record card. It includes two parts, arrival record and departure record. All foreign tourists must fill in this form. Personal information such as name and date of birth must be filled in in English capital letters on the first page, that is, items 1 to 13 and 14 to 17. Don't fill in anything on the back of this form. In addition, you must also specify your first address and other details when you arrive in the United States. If you don't know how to fill out a form, you can ask the driver for help.

CF-6059 Customs Declaration Form: Some are filled in before boarding/leaving the country, and some are filled in on board, depending on the departure airport.

2. Entry inspection procedures

Please prepare your passport, SEVISI-20 or DS-20 19 form, I-94 entry-exit record card and CF-6059 customs declaration form before you arrive at the checkpoint, so that you can show them to the officials of the Customs and Border Protection Bureau.

There are four main inspection items at American ports of entry:

1 public health 2 immigration status 3 customs inspection 4 agricultural inspection. These four inspections can be conducted by one official or several officials.

When you arrive at the port of entry, please go to the exit of the inbound passengers, arrive at the entry inspection room, and wait in line for inspection according to the different entry visas. Non-immigrant visa holders F 1 should queue up in the non-immigrant non-resident queue in the area where foreign tourists enter; Holders of immigrant visas or green cards should be listed as citizens/residents.

When it's your turn to be inspected, please give your passport, SEVIS I-20 or DS-20 19 form, I-94 entry and exit record card with your address in the United States and CF-6059 customs declaration form to the immigration officer for inspection.

Traditionally, immigration officials will ask you some questions, such as "staying in the United States", "purpose of visiting the United States", "planning to stay in the United States" and "how much money to bring". When answering questions, you must state that you are a student or an exchange scholar, and the name and address of your school or exchange program.

After asking questions, immigration officials will ask you to leave fingerprints on the scanning equipment and take a digital photo on the spot. Finally, they will stamp the I-20 or IAP-66 and I-94, indicate the entry date, which is the deadline for visitors to the United States to be allowed to live in the United States, sign the visa status and the legal re-entry period, and set this card on the inside page of the passport.

If you hold a student visa F- 1 and an exchange scholar visa J- 1, the United States will allow you to stay in the United States until you complete your studies. Therefore, under normal circumstances, the immigration officer will stamp the identification stamp on the I-94 form. No matter whether you have an F- 1 or J- 1 visa, you should note that your passport must always be valid for more than six months when you enter the United States.
