First of all, correct a concept that people often confuse. "Permanent residence" does not mean "naturalization". China people are still citizens of China after obtaining a permanent residence visa, and their passports are also those of China people, so they can't go to so many countries without visas like Australian passports.

Secondly, is there an "immigration supervisor" in Australia?

After the successful immigration application (permanent residence), the permanent residence visa issued by the Australian Immigration Department is a five-year visa, which is what we usually call "Australian permanent resident visa" or P.R, which is also commonly known as "green card".

PR visa holders can live in Australia indefinitely and enter Australia indefinitely within 5 years after obtaining the visa. After obtaining a five-year multiple-entry PR visa for permanent residents, it is generally necessary to make the first entry within six months to one year, and the deadline for the first entry will be indicated on the visa. If you don't enter Australia within the time limit, your visa will be invalid. You can enter and leave Australia at will after your first entry, and there is no limit to the number of days you can stay each year.

If you have not met the requirements of naturalization or Australian citizenship before the expiration of the 5-year permanent resident visa, please apply for an extended multiple-entry visa for residents and a return visa for Australian residents according to the following conditions.

1. If you are in Australia and don't plan to leave soon, then you don't need to apply for any extension visa, even if your permanent resident round-trip visa has expired; As long as you don't leave the country, your permanent resident status will not be affected by the expiration of the PR visa. When you need to leave the country (if you need to go home to visit relatives), you can apply to the Australian Immigration Bureau to extend the visa for Australian residents to return to China (155 or 157):

1. 1 If you have lived in Australia for two years or more in the past five years, you will be granted a five-year extension of the Australian Resident Return Visa (visa category 155); or

1.2 If you have a strong interest relationship with Australia and there are force majeure reasons to explain why you have not lived in Australia for more than five years (proof materials are required), you can get your Australian resident return visa to be extended for five years (category155); or

1.3 If you have lived in Australia for one day or more in the past five years, and there are force majeure reasons to explain why you have not lived in Australia for more than five years, you can get an extension of your Australian resident return visa for three months (category157); or

1.4 If you are a spouse, child or immediate family member who currently holds or is about to hold a multiple-entry visa for a resident of five years or three months, you are also eligible for a multiple-entry visa for an Australian resident (whether you apply at the same time or after them), and your visa will be valid at the same time as your family member's visa;

1.5 when the above-mentioned extended 155 visa will expire in five years, it is also necessary to apply for visa extension according to the situation of (1. 1), (1.2) or (1.4), that is.

1.6 If your immigrant visa expires and you leave the country without a valid Australian resident return visa, you may be disqualified from returning to Australia.

If you are outside Australia, you must apply to the Australian Embassy for an extension before the visa expires. The conditions are the same as above.

Australia's residence requirements for new immigrants are very relaxed. Only one person in a family meets the prescribed residence requirements can get a family visa extension. Therefore, after obtaining an Australian permanent resident visa, you can go to Australia for the first time, and then you can go to other countries to develop according to your personal needs and settle in Australia at any time within five years.

In addition, Australian permanent residents can enter and leave New Zealand at any time, and even work or live there without applying for any visa; However, New Zealand permanent residents who want to go to Australia must apply for a visa, and only New Zealand citizens can enter Australia without a visa.
