Three essentials of pure land

First, the main points of the Infinite Life Sutra

(A) the version of the Infinite Life Sutra

There are 12 versions of the Infinite Life Sutra in history, and now there are five versions preserved. It is safe to collect the big roots of economic foundation from Buddhism, and there is no objection to what one Buddha said, and it is a version that has been pursued by generations and passed down from ancestors. We have studied the pure land thought of the master of good guidance. From Tanluan, Daochuo to Good Guidance, all the classics that our ancestors relied on were the Infinite Life Sutra translated by Senkai Kang.

In Senkai Kang's translation, it can be said that the words are concise and the meaning is thorough. Other collections are mixed together, confusing, and people can't find the direction.

In Senkai Kang's translation, the eighteenth wish is "to read Buddha and wish to live": "Ten generations are sincere and happy, and want to live in our country, even ten thoughts; If you are not born, don't take enlightenment. " The achievement article says: "All sentient beings, hearing its name, are full of confidence and joy. Even when they think of it, they return to their hearts and wish to live in that country, that is, die and stay." The correspondence is obvious.

The Master of Good Guidance simply explained: The Buddha said that all living beings have different roots, namely, up, down and middle. With roots, the Buddha advised them to recite the Buddha's name of infinite life.

The nineteenth wish is to guide people who work in the root machine into traditional special ideas, whether it is upper root, middle root or lower root. It is along this route that we can introduce the fixed good and scattered good into the traditional special thought. After three generations, Guan Jing's purpose has always been dedicated, very clear and clear.

What does the twentieth wish mean? May the text be like this: make me a Buddha, ten generations of beings, hear my name, cherish our country, plant all virtues, and return to my heart. If you want to live in our country, those who fail will not accept enlightenment.

The eighteenth wish is to decide to die when you are alive: if you specialize in Buddhism and don't die in this life, I won't become a Buddha; The nineteenth wish is also the benefit that the vowed walker gets in this life: you practice all kinds of merits, and all kinds of merits are introduced to the Buddha, and I am destined to die when I die. There are other sentient beings, such as the "seeded" sentient beings in general Buddhism. They have also heard of Amitabha and known Xanadu, but they haven't initiated three hearts yet, so they are not allowed to die in this life. Even for such sentient beings, Amitabha will make the 20th wish for them: You have heard my name, cared about our country, and planted seeds like a tree. Even if you can't get rid of it in this life and fail in the future, I won't be enlightened! After all, you will die in the western paradise.

These three wishes are very complete in Senkai Kang's translation: the eighteenth wish and the nineteenth wish take this life as an opportunity, which is an opportunity; The twentieth wish is to get an accessory machine, which is an accessory wish. In the desire to seize the opportunity, the eighteenth wish is to die of chanting Buddha, and the nineteenth wish is to facilitate the introduction of truth. The relationship between the three wishes is very obvious.

(2) Make the eighteenth wish and always make the forty-eighth wish.

The Master of Good Guidance founded the Pure Land Sect according to Pure land three, especially according to Guan Jing's Pure Land Sect. However, the master's interpretation of Guan Jing is based on the 18th wish of Amitabha, that is, to interpret Guan Jing and treat Amitabha based on the 18th wish of Infinite Life Sutra. In the master's mind, these three classics are blind. On this point, there are several points mentioned in Four Records of Viewing Classics.

Forty-eight wishes have a core and a purpose. The idea of a good guide master is based on eighteen wishes. This purpose, this core, this foundation, this purpose is the eighteen vows, which is the foundation of the foundation. The eighteenth wish is the core of the whole forty-eight wishes, so it is called "the original wish in the original wish".

The Infinite Life Sutra says: His Buddha's original wish is famous for wanting to die, knowing that he has arrived in other countries and will never look back.

Master Guan said: Of the 48 wishes, only those who know the name can live.

Forty-eight wishes only illustrate this matter. For example, the first wish and the second wish serve the eighteenth wish. In order to enable all living beings to live in such a beautiful pure land and never be troubled by the three evil ways, they made "the country has no three evil wishes" and "there are no more three evil wishes"; It is also to let all living beings die and realize his own "boundless light" wish: I am boundless light to absorb all living beings who read Buddha. As the saying goes, "The light shines on the world, and all sentient beings who miss the Buddha are reluctant to give up". The role played by Amitabha's boundless light comes from the eighteenth wish: because all sentient beings want to call my name and return to my pure land, they vowed to become Buddha's boundless light; Because I want to free all sentient beings in the world in the future, I would like to be a Buddha with infinite life; Because we want to use his name to save all living beings, this name is the simplest and most unique, so we make a vow to let all ten Buddhas praise and admire my name ... all this serves the eighteen vows and takes the eighteen vows as the fundamental purpose. The Elysium built by Amitabha is so solemn and extraordinary, and its purpose is to immigrate ten sentient beings to the Elysium, which is the core of the forty-eight wishes.

Among the forty-eight wishes, if you know the spirit of the eighteenth wish and specialize in chanting Buddha, then even if you don't know a word of the other forty-seven wishes, you will completely reach the Elysium and be completely satisfied. Amitabha's 48 wishes are a natural whole. Just say the six-character name and you'll have it all. This is a whole-it has its unchanging purpose. To learn the Pure Land Method, it is urgent to solve the problem of how to go to Elysium.

(3) All three generations advised to return to Buddha.

The master explained: Buddha said that all living beings have different roots, including upper, middle and lower. With their roots, the Buddha advised them to read the name of the infinite life Buddha.

A person who takes root is a person who gives up his family and desires and becomes a monk. He should always think of the infinite life Buddha, practice all kinds of merits and be willing to live in that country. Although middle-aged people can't become monks and practice great merits, they should also show great bodhicitta. They have been dedicated to the infinite life Buddha, but they can't change the major of chanting Buddha. According to your roots, you practice good deeds at home, "how much you can do, how fast you can stand as revered". The next generation, becoming a monk, can't do it; I can't do all kinds of merits at home. None of this can be done. What should you do? I have been dedicated to the infinite longevity Buddha, and I will not change. Whether it is the holy gate or the pure land gate, the goal is to become a Buddha, so we must be bodhi.

Wish to live bliss determines life, death determines becoming a Buddha, and becoming a Buddha determines living beings, so wish to live is bodhicitta.

Bodhisattva's bodhicitta is to make four wishes, practice bodhisattva and become Buddha in this world-this independent bodhicitta is difficult to develop and will be lost when encountering circumstances. Sharifutsu, the revered founder, retired from practice all his life, not to mention us ordinary people. It's easy to lose.

(D) the meaning of "three poisons and five poisons"

Because it is so easy to die in Elysium, the good guide warned us: You should be careful not to make such mistakes. You should abandon the three poisons and practice Buddhism, with less greed, less jealousy and less delusion. We should abandon the five evils and follow the principles of benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom.

That's what our sentient beings are like. We should be ashamed, realize that our roots are inferior, and honestly recite the Buddha.

After talking about the solemnity of the Elysium, the method of the death of all beings and the extraordinary result of the death of the Elysium, Sakyamuni Buddha advised us that the reputation of the Elysium, the merits of the Bodhisattva are so extraordinary and the earth is so solemn. Why don't you try to do good things in such a good place? The pure land of bliss naturally follows Amitabha. As long as we are willing to die, Amitabha is willing to let us decide to die. The pure land of bliss is not persistent, there is no distinction between upper and lower, and they are all equal. It is completely magical, it is "an empty body, an infinite body." You should strive for Buddhism and devote yourself to the survival of the western paradise. If you want to die, as long as you want to die, you must die!

Man, heaven, earth, hungry ghost and beast, the "five evils" naturally combine. In the past, when people were born in Elysium, people in the world were all good, but they were still evil, not good. In the pure land of bliss, there is no end to enlightenment, no end to life, no end, no end. And the result? It's easy to die, but because everyone doesn't believe in it, doesn't want to die, and is busy with useless and degenerate things in the world, the Buddha has pity on us: it's so easy to die, and as a result, the world is lost in three poisons and five poisons, and few people die! Some people say that if death is so easy, there will be no one in this world. Yes, it's really easy to die. Why are there so many people in this world? Because they don't believe, they don't want to die, they create three evils and five evils, and they can't see the troubles in the world.

There are no obstacles in death heaven. As long as there is no Amitabha in the south, it is very easy to be led by the bright will of the Buddha. When you read Buddha, you will naturally return to bliss. No matter whether the heart is pure or unclean, as long as there is no Amitabha in the south, it will naturally return to the pure land of bliss and naturally reach the paradise. Free from artificial nature, as long as you specialize in chanting Buddha, you will follow the Buddha's original wish and live a clean earth.

The Buddha sighed, why can't people in the world see through the illusion of five desires and six dusts? Why can't you give up these attachments in your heart? The pure land of bliss is the supreme dharma, and we should be diligent in going to a dead end. Once you reach Elysium, you can live indefinitely. Nirvana is endless. In such a good place and a place where people die easily, people in the world just don't listen and are shallow and tacky. Only the past should be dealt with actively, and as a result, everyone is fighting for something that is not in a hurry.

What are you doing in this world of women and great distress? I was busy there, for the sake of fame. Whether it is a person with high status or a person with low status; Whether poor or rich; What are you busy with, whether young or old, men or women? I don't want to live in the west, I just want to make money. With money, he is worried and wants to have more money; Without money, he is also worried. Just because you are rich, you are not sad, but you are still sad. Trouble, thinking, all kinds of troubles, rich and poor alike.

This is the mentality of the world and the situation of the world. They went through a lot of trouble there, taking advantage of it, and their hearts were full of sorrow and pain. That's all I think about day and night. That's all I think about.

Life is so busy, what are you busy with? Running around, taking the train, flying ... in fact, his heart is driving him to run around. We came to the Dharma Hall today because of our heart: a heart that wants to learn Buddhism and a heart that wants to live in the western paradise, which led us to this place. Those people in the street, they have to rush to meetings, negotiations and business, they are for money; We came to this place for Buddhism: everything is driven by the heart. When we smell Buddhism, we can go to the pure land; And those things in the world have no end and no stability.

We should see through the world, put down all the money and reputation in the world, focus on the survival of the pure land in the west, and focus on Tommy's name.

(5) The meaning of "ten days' good practice here is better than a thousand years' good practice in Buddhism"

Some people doubt: "Then why do you want to die?" ? Can you add functions to this place? "Really speaking, Elysium is a bodhisattva, and we are all greedy mortals here. How do ordinary people practice more than bodhisattva in one day? What does this mean? It is easy to become a Buddha in bliss, but it is too difficult to do good in the world and ask for an afterlife. If you want to practice in the world of nuns, it is equivalent to sailing against the current, and you have to pay a great price, but you get very little in return. For another example, in such an immoral world, it is "difficult" to pronounce a Buddhist name and show a little kindness. This is to encourage us to be kind, but also to persuade us to survive in the paradise.

Rich people are very rich, and it is not difficult to donate 10 thousand yuan. All the possessions of the poor are a dress, and the merit of donating this dress is greater than donating 10 thousand yuan. This is his heartfelt words. It is not easy for him to do this. Doesn't mean the dress itself is worth more than 10 thousand.

In this filthy and evil world, we should do good deeds with our hearts. Our kindness is very weak and it is difficult to continue. So the Buddha came to comfort us, encouraged us to say "you are rare, rare", and advised us to read Buddha and go to Elysium.

(6) The meaning of "only seeing Buddha's light"

At the end of the Sutra of Infinite Life, Sakyamuni Buddha said to Ananda: Now you get up and worship the Buddha of Infinite Life. All the buddhas in ten countries are admiring this Buddha. Now Sakyamuni Buddha wants to give a sacred blessing, so that Ananda and the people present can witness the solemn scene of the infinite vitality of the country.

So Ananda got up and tidied up his clothes, bowed down to the Buddha with infinite longevity in the west, and said to the Buddha, I and the people present here want to see the peaceful land of Amitabha and the infinite bodhisattvas of Amitabha in person.

As soon as the voice fell, the infinite life Buddha immediately amplified the light. In the light of the boundless Buddha, the whole world, the empty land, everything turns golden. Just like a disaster, water robbery is boundless and covers the whole world. Everything in it is flooded, so you can't see it. You can only see a vast flood. After the infinite longevity Buddha magnified the light, the whole world disappeared, covered up and disappeared.

Manjusri Bodhisattva, King Pu Xian Bodhisattva and all Bodhisattvas have light. As soon as the boundless Buddha shines, all the light disappears, just like when the sun comes out, candles, fireflies and lights are covered and out of sight.

This passage also has special significance. People who specialize in Buddhism have dedicated themselves to Amitabha in the south, and the Buddha shines in our hearts, so we will not feel inadequate. Are we going to miss other bodhisattvas? Bodhisattvas don't see the light! Which bodhisattva should we read? All the Bodhisattvas are in the light of Amitabha: "Only the Buddha is bright and brilliant".

In this way, you will always focus on the Buddha's light, and there is only one Buddha in your heart. All bodhisattvas are taken according to the light of Amitabha, not for exclusion. At the same time, it shows that people who read Buddhism have put down their persistence in self-reliance and practice. Bodhisattva has the light of merit and wisdom, but when chanting Buddha, she will not publicize her merit and wisdom. He read Buddha and died by force. The Bodhisattva did not have such understanding, because his light was also obscured. Arahant has merits and wisdom, and won't say that he relies on his own merits. Arhat also relies on the light of Buddha, and his light is covered. Although it was covered up, it was not lost, but it was promoted to the level of Buddha. "Only the Buddha is bright."

People who live in bliss don't think they have much merit or greatness, even if they recite the Buddha's name 100 thousand times a day, it is the merit of Amitabha. Even if we become a monk, even if we practice good deeds and precepts, we will not take this out of chanting Buddha. If we take it out separately, it shows that we don't just see the Buddha's light, but have our own things in our hearts.

(7) Metaplasia and viviparous

People who die in Elysium have viviparous and metaplasia. Maitreya Bodhisattva asked us: Buddha, what is the reason why people in Elysium are born and reborn? Metaplasia means that the lotus in Elysium is now open, not in the lotus embryo; "viviparous" means staying in it for a while.

The Buddha replied that some people don't believe what the Buddha said. Although they can't clearly believe in the wisdom of the Buddha, they still believe in the blessing of sin, that is, they believe in karma: evil is rewarded with evil, and good with good; If you commit a crime, you suffer; if you cultivate happiness, you enjoy it. Do all kinds of good deeds and merits, as if using this as capital, and return to the paradise of previous lives. Such beings were born in Qibao Palace, between 500 years old.

During their five hundred years in the palace, first of all, they couldn't see the Buddha; Second, I don't understand the scriptures; Third, you can't see the bodhisattva, and you can't hear the saint. It is separated from the Buddhist monk Sambo, so it is called "viviparous" in the bliss world, as if the baby in the world is wrapped in its mother's womb and does not come out.

If all living beings believe that this six-character title is the crystallization of Amitabha's merits and is the ontology of Amitabha's bright wisdom. I believe that chanting Buddha will definitely lead to death. This is the Buddhist wisdom of Amitabha. They continue to recite Buddha, and this name contains all virtues and all merits. Just give yourself to Amitabha, and if there is no him in the south, it will be his. Of course, Buddhists can also find their roots to do good. The description of viviparous and metaplasia in the Infinite Life Sutra encourages us to believe in the wisdom of Buddhism and specialize in chanting Buddha to avoid falling into viviparous. The viviparous is due to miscellaneous activities. Doubt the wisdom of Buddha in my heart; There are miscellaneous repairs in the industry. Although the miscellaneous people have passed away, they are within the lotus. "There is no Buddha at the age of 500." "500 years old" is a rough time period, and different beings have their own lengths. Metaplasia is a person who believes in the wisdom of Buddhism and specializes in chanting Buddhism. When he is alive, he will see the Buddha.

(8) deliberately left this passage.

Finally, the Buddha said that in the era of legal extinction, this "Infinite Life Sutra" was specially reserved for "stopping the centenary":

Someone asked why this book "Infinite Life Sutra" was kept. Why don't other Mahayana classics stay?

First, the "Infinite Life Sutra" talks about Amitabha's forty-eight wishes, that is, to publicize the method of saving Amitabha's original wishes and follow Amitabha's original wishes; Other classics don't talk about Amitabha's original wish. Therefore, Sakyamuni Buddha specially left this "Infinite Life Sutra".

Second, Buddhism is the correspondence between machine and law, that is to say, this law can only survive in the world if there is a root machine adapted to practice this law. Otherwise, even if the buddhas protect their lives with divine power, there will be no sentient beings to cultivate. Because when the law is broken, the good roots of all beings are weak, but they are brave enough to create evil. Without other classics, you can't observe Zen and observe precepts. If no one can do it, it will naturally disappear, which is one of them; In addition, the three treasures no longer exist, and no one preaches the basic teachings of Buddhism, bodhicitta, practicing and abstaining from goodness. None of this has been discussed.

In fact, the good roots of most people in the world today are not mature. For them, having Buddhist classics means nothing.

In the era of the extinction of law, all beings are deeply distressed, and it is everyone's natural instinct to have fun in suffering. The more distressed I am, the more I want to get out of it. At that time, when I met a Buddhist practitioner, I heard that "as long as I read the name of Amitabha, I decided to go to the pure land of Amitabha", and I would devote myself to it, just like the inferior beings in Guan Jing, and it was easy to correspond to the machine method. Therefore, only by observing this scripture can we benefit all beings and let them live moderately.

It can be said that the Infinite Life Sutra was left, that is to say, all the scriptures were left. Why? Because all the scriptures make people become Buddhas, and according to the Infinite Life Sutra, everyone can read Buddha and become a Buddha. All living beings become buddhas, and all the classic goals have been achieved.

Second, the main points of Guan Jing

There are also a few points to explain in Guan Jing.

(A) Buddhism into chanting

The focus of Guan Jing is not to observe the Buddha, but to guide the master to explain. The focus of "Guan Jing" is to introduce Samadhi from Buddhism and guide the two good deeds into proper names. The so-called:

In this classic essay,

Only by focusing on fame can we live.

Although the benefits of the two doors will be scattered; Look at the Buddha's original wish, that is, all beings have always called the Buddha name Amitabha.

This is what everyone should grasp.

Among the five main activities of a good guide master, watching Buddha is an auxiliary industry, and reciting Buddha is a definite industry. It is difficult to see Buddha, but it is easy to read Buddha. Seeing Buddha is not what Buddha wants to do, but reciting Buddha is what Buddha wants to do. This is called Zhengding Industry.

(2) Sanfu is a miscellaneous business.

The three blessings in Guan Jing are to go back to the past and belong to miscellaneous trades; Always focus on amitabha's name is karma.

"Miscellaneous behavior" doesn't sound good. In fact, it is relatively convenient to guide people who practice the holy way Buddhism into the pure land Buddhism. So it is very important, and it is called "Yaomen". Because all kinds of fixed goodness and scattered goodness are originally spiritual practices, including Mahayana goodness, Mahayana goodness and secular goodness. Without this, these people can't get into the Pure Land Gate. With the important door, you can return the merits of your original practice to the survival of the western paradise, so it is very skillful and convenient.

After returning to the pure land to survive, we can make a real and convenient interpretation in the pure land door, and finally guide them into traditional obsession.

Although we have been devoted to chores, we have no intention of abandoning chores, but we know in our hearts that focusing on the name of Amitabha is bound to die, and all good deeds and merits are included in chanting Buddha.

Buddhist practitioners will also do good deeds, accumulate virtues and give alms, and to a certain extent, keep precepts and support the three treasures. However, we don't think that "chanting Buddha is not enough, so we can do these subsidies besides chanting Buddha, so that we can die", but we know that "I specialize in chanting Buddha and decide to die, so I have to spend time practicing good Buddhism." Because in the past, our hearts were afraid and worried, now we have a decision to rely on, and our hearts are stable and will be more in line with Buddhism. This is a manifestation of benefiting from Buddhism and corresponding to Buddhism.

(3) All the nine products are Buddhas.

People who passed away from the Nine Classics of the Great Classic have been urging them to read the name of Amitabha.

There are two places where you persuade the Buddha to return:

The first is to persuade the Buddha's heart, that is, to be sincere, to be deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and to return to the original heart. The master of good guidance has a detailed explanation of these three natures. In short, the three hearts are the hearts of "truly returning to Amitabha's life and willing to die". Therefore, the three hearts are based on the six-character name of Amitabha, and the three hearts are the hearts of chanting Buddha. Since the three hearts are connected with the nine products, then the nine products also belong to chanting Buddha.

The second is to persuade the Buddha to practice, that is, to be inferior, inferior and inferior. Although chanting Buddha is a bad habit, it actually runs through the nine categories.

Moreover, Sanfu and Jiupin are different in opening and closing. It is said that the wish of Mahayana to do good, Hinayana to abstain from good, and worldly blessing to return to life also belongs to chanting Buddha.

(4) Buddhist chanting is not limited to inferior products.

Guan Jing says that Buddha was born in inferior quality, so some people think that Mahayana is more than Buddha because Buddha was born in inferior quality; If you want to live a tasteful life, you should practice other methods. That's not true. There are several sayings about chanting Buddha and taste.

Three. Main points of amitabha sutra

Amitabha Sutra is the classic we are most familiar with every day. As for the Amitabha Sutra, there are several important scriptures. If we don't understand or even misunderstand them, the Pure Land Sect will not be clear, and we will feel timid when reading Buddhism.

(1) "More good roots" means holding a name.

What is a "good root"? It is to take "holding the name" as "more good roots". Specializing in chanting Buddha means "the good in the good and the blessing in the blessing", and it is called "more good roots and blessings". I specialize in chanting Buddha, and my voice is full of the good roots of Amitabha, which is equal to the good roots of Buddha. The explanations given by the ancestors of all previous dynasties, whether they are masters of good guidance, master lianchi, Yi, or lawyer Yuan Zhao, are invariably called "more good roots and blessings".

Knowing this, we will walk steadily on the road of learning Buddhism and be sure of our future decision.

(2) "One mind is not chaotic" means to specialize in chanting Buddha without chaos.

What is "one thought is not chaotic"?

The "undivided attention" explained by the master of good guidance means that we are undivided when we are single-minded about Buddha, and undivided when we are dedicated to Buddha.

Good instructors often say "one heart": "one heart, the Buddha will not be chaotic", "one heart" and "one heart" mean "one heart, straight ahead", which means no doubt, no double-mindedness, no doubt, no retreat, specializing in chanting Buddha.

In Ode to the Dharma, it is said that "teaching Tommy to specialize and re-specialize", and the word "specializing and re-specializing" is used to explain "one heart is not chaotic": "one heart" means not being double-minded, and not being double-minded means concentrating, so it is called "specialized"; "No chaos" means no chaos. In this way, we hold a name and continue to read Buddha with a sincere heart. This is called "one mind is not chaotic."

In a word, according to Amitabha's original wish, it is a serious business to keep one's mind in order. We can all do this without confusion. If it is meditation, it will be difficult, not pure land practice.

(c) Death is "the heart is not reversed" because the sage is in front.

How to ensure that "the heart is not upside down" when dying?

There are two points: first, we call reciting Tommy's name "karma", and we have decided to die while we are alive.

Second, according to the Amitabha Sutra, people who specialize in Buddhism, at the last moment of their lives, are mindful of the present, and their hearts are not reversed. It is not that we have the strength to achieve this kind of kung fu, not that "based on this, Amitabha will come to receive the quotation", but that as long as we specialize in chanting Buddha at ordinary times, Amitabha will naturally come to receive the quotation when we are dying; Because Amitabha is blessed with good karma and light, the people at the end of his life will not be reversed.

It is described in the scripture that when a person who specializes in Buddhism dies, the Buddha will come to receive it, which is the time to gain benefits. Don't talk about the depth of your practice at this time. As long as you have been specializing in chanting Buddha, when you are dying, Buddha and sage will naturally come to you.

The Buddha came to greet the present first, and then the man died. Usually, I specialize in chanting "If one day ... if seven days", and the advantage of death is "Amitabha, all saints are in front of him".

Before the Buddha appeared, light blessed him so that his heart would not be turned upside down. Anyone who specializes in Buddhism will benefit from the introduction of Amitabha before his death; Amitabha came to lead the way, and the people who read the Buddha were all meditating at the moment, and their mindfulness was clear and not reversed. The so-called "people die, the heart is not upside down." Under what circumstances did he die? He died under the condition of "not turning his heart back", and now he has gone to the western paradise with Amitabha.

Some people think that we have to recite Buddha to achieve the goal of not turning our hearts upside down, and we can guarantee this ourselves. Amitabha came to pick us up, and then we died-this is a reversal of the secondary relationship of the scriptures, which is wrong. Every one of us, as long as we specialize in chanting Buddha at ordinary times, don't worry that Amitabha won't pick us up on his deathbed, don't worry at all! The reason why Amitabha issued this "make a wish before dying" is to pity that we can't make a decision at the end of our lives. At the end of life, there are four major separations, and all kinds of karma are intertwined. How can you make your own decisions? Amitabha knows that we are suffering from this kind of rebellion, so he wants to bless us: when you die, I will take the quotations in front of you, just to ensure that you can be clear-headed and not upside down at the end of your life!

Master Hu Yi said in Tomiyao Street: The Buddha specially came to guarantee us? Don't worry! When you were dying, Buddha received you before.

(d) "Good men and good women" are people who read Buddha.

The Amitabha Sutra says "Good men and good women". What kind of person is qualified to be called "a good man and a good woman"? Some people say "five commandments", some say "ten good deeds" and some say "three blessings". In short, you can't live without these. This statement goes against the Bible. Guan Jing once said that those who have committed ten evils, slandered laws and violated five laws have also left the Buddha. Even though it was a bad opportunity, it was praised as a "good man" by the Buddha because it was said that there was no Amitabha in the south. The most typical example is the poor quality in Guan Jing. Ten evil sinners said that there was no Amitabha in the south, and the Buddha came to pick him up and praise him.

Good job! Call the name Buddha, and all the sins will disappear. I'll see you.

Why do you call him a "good guy"? First, because he said that he had read Amitabha in Nanwu; Second, it is said that there is no Amitabha in Niannan, and all evils are eliminated; Third, all evils are eliminated and the body and mind are clean. Amitabha welcomed him back to the pure land. As long as you recite Buddha, all these benefits are obtained.

In the world, even a philanthropist is not good enough for life and death. To die without chanting Buddha is still a sinful sentient being in the three realms and the seed of the six divisions in the wheel of karmic distress. How can I be called a "good man"?

A Buddhist can go to Elysium, and "all good people in the world will meet in one place" can be called "good people". This is from the standpoint of Buddhist liberation, with such a high standard, not according to the world's view of good and evil.

(5) "If one day ... if seven days means a lifetime.

Besides, the sentence "If one day ..." in the Amitabha Sutra can't be understood as one-sided chanting for seven days. "If one day ... if seven days" is a lifelong Buddhist prayer.

In other words, we should always take the Buddha as the center and keep the Buddha. Our life span of one day, dedicated to chanting Buddha, is not chaotic for one day; If you have a life span of two days, you should study Buddhism for two days. If you have a life span of seven days, you will devote seven days to chanting Buddha. If you have a life span of seven years, you will study Buddhism for seven years ... until when? Until "this man is dying", the good guide explained that "after one heart, I swear to do my whole life, and there is no way out, only the pure land will last", which is the constant chanting of the Buddha. People who specialize in chanting Buddha have been chanting Buddha.
