According to the Records of Baoan County and Yearbook of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, before the establishment of Shenzhen in 1979, there were 333,579 local people using the original dialect in Shenzhen, and the number of households was 758 16. Among these 3,335,790 people, the local language in Shenzhen is Hakka, accounting for 56%.
Hakka natives in Shenzhen live in most parts of central and eastern Shenzhen. Shiyan Town in Baoan, the west is a pure Hakka town, and only Yaoxin Village in 14 villages speaks Baoan dialect.
