The Development of Muslims in Taiwan Province

The real progress of Islam in Taiwan Province Province is the 20,000 Muslims who came to settle in Taiwan with famous Islamists such as Bai Chongxi and Ma Bufang after the civil war in 1949. Most of these Muslims are soldiers, civil servants and teachers, and their main places of residence are Taipei and Kaohsiung. Ma Zhongyao, secretary general of China Muslim Association in Taiwan Province Province, estimates that only about 5,000 Muslims in Taiwan Province Province regularly attend traditional Muslim worship.
