Planning steps of "Mars-1" colonial plan

The first step is to launch a communication satellite into the orbit of Mars in 20 16.

The second step is to launch a Mars surface rover to the surface of Mars in 20 18. This rover will be able to explore the desert-like surface of Mars like NASA's Spirit and Opportunity rovers, and find some most suitable "colonies" for the future Mars colonization plan. The third step is to send some necessary living materials and infrastructure to Mars in 2020, including solar panels and "converters" that can convert Martian surface materials into water and oxygen. The fourth step is to launch the first batch of four Mars colonial astronauts on September 14, 2022. They will arrive on Mars in April 2023 and officially start their colonial life on Mars. They will live in some vast cone-shaped sealed "Mars houses", each of which will include a bedroom, a living room, an office and a plant production room.

Fifth, after that, every two years, "Mars One" company will send two or four astronauts to continue colonizing Mars, and strive to establish a "Mars base" where at least 20 earthlings live before 2033.
