Is Minnan dialect the old ancient Zhongyuan dialect?
Minnan was a wild land in ancient times. During the Warring States Period, the Central Plains Han people who spoke Heluo dialect in Luoyang migrated to southern Fujian. After Luoyang people in the Central Plains migrated to southern Fujian, Heluo dialect developed into the present Minnan dialect. Therefore, the earliest Zhongyuan dialect = now Minnan dialect, and now Fujian people in southern Fujian are descendants of the orthodox early Han people. In the subsequent dynasties, it was also the war that caused some Han people in southern Fujian to emigrate to the Chaoshan area of Taiwan Province Province-Leizhou Peninsula, but most of them chose to stay in Fujian.
