Different levels of public security bureau chief have different levels. Generally speaking, the public security bureau chief is divided into several levels:

First, the director of the bureau directly under the Ministry of Public Security (such as the Economic Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security) is generally at the bureau level;

Second, the municipal public security bureau (such as the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau) is the bureau level, but the director is the deputy provincial and ministerial level;

Third, the directors of provincial public security organs (such as the Economic Investigation Bureau of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department) are generally at the county level;

Fourth, the public security bureaus of districts and cities (except cities with separate plans at the sub-provincial level, such as Changsha Public Security Bureau) are at the county level, and the directors are deployed at the deputy bureau level;

Fifth, the county-level public security organs (such as Jinxian County Public Security Bureau in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province) are at the main hall level, and the director is the deputy county level.

The police rank is determined by the administrative post level and police age, and the person in charge of the public security organ is half a level higher than the unit rank:

1. The township, district and street police stations in non-municipalities directly under the Central Government are the agencies (director level) of district and county public security bureaus. The rank of director is deputy department level, and the police rank is second-class police inspector or third-class police inspector.

2. The village and district street police station of the municipality directly under the Central Government is the agency of the municipal and county public security bureau (director level). The chief police officer is a deputy director, and the police officer is a first-class police inspector, a second-class police inspector or a third-class police inspector.

3. The county public security bureau of a non-municipality directly under the Central Government is a department-level unit, the rank of director is a deputy department-level, and the police rank is a first-class police inspector.

5. The municipal public security bureau of a non-municipality directly under the Central Government is a department-level unit, with the director at the deputy department level and the police rank at the second or third level. Article 16 The State practices a job classification system for civil servants.

According to the nature, characteristics and management needs of civil servant positions, civil servant positions are divided into comprehensive management, professional technology and administrative law enforcement.

According to this law, the State Council can set up other job categories for those who have special positions and need to be managed separately. The scope of application of each type of work shall be stipulated separately by the state.

Article 19 The rank of civil servants shall be set below the bureau level.

The rank sequence of comprehensive management civil servants is divided into: first-class inspector, second-class inspector, first-class researcher, second-class researcher, third-class researcher, fourth-class researcher, first-class chief clerk, second-class chief clerk, third-class chief clerk, fourth-class chief clerk, first-class clerk and second-class clerk.

The rank sequence of civil servants in positions other than comprehensive management shall be stipulated separately by the state in accordance with this law.
