There are a large number of China people in Australia. Take the area around our school as an example. If you live next to the school, you don't need to speak English. If you study science and engineering, you don't need to make a presentation, and you don't need to discuss it in groups (it's ok to discuss it in groups, as there are so many students in China, so it's good to get together). You basically don't need to speak English at school. As long as you can speak simple daily shopping language, answer questions and do your homework in English, you can have a good life with China. Therefore, people in China are willing to get together with people in China, use English as little as possible and make life as convenient as possible.

The courses here are divided into three forms: lectures, tutorials and experiments.

A lecture means that the lecturer talks about something tall and metaphysical. The lecturer calls the lecturer here. If you want to call a teacher in class, you should call him Mr. (Americans call him a professor whether he is a professor or not).

Tutorial is a tutor (called a teaching assistant in the United States and a teaching assistant in China) who talks about something grounded, dirty work that the lecturer doesn't want to talk about, and how to do the problem specifically.

Lab is an experimental class, which is generally only available in engineering. For example, the laboratory of electronic engineering is to connect the circuit board in the laboratory, and the laboratory of programming is to write code in the computer room. There is no laboratory in the liberal arts class, but there will be a seminar, which is also hosted by the tutor.

What do a group of China people usually do when they are not in class? The basic activities are as follows:

Learn to cook, and send cooking pictures to friends.

In addition to going to school and chatting after school, a considerable number of international students in China will choose to work, but there are not many people working, which may only account for about half. People who don't work are generally divided into two categories: one is too tired, it is too difficult to find a job, and the family can afford it anyway. Another kind of people have too much money to work.

From my personal observation, people who go abroad generally go through three stages.

In the first stage, it is unpleasant to see anywhere abroad. Everything is fine, except that it is uncomfortable to stay. There is nothing to play on weekends, and the food is much worse than that in China. I can't go anywhere when I go out at night. Without Taobao, there are not many friends, which is simply too uncultured.

In the second stage, you have to go abroad for at least three years to adapt. I still remember meeting a German when renting a house. He told me that he had been here for five years and only got used to it in the third year. It takes three years for a white man, let alone a China man. Three years later, the sense of rejection from here began to disappear, and I began to feel that it was not necessary to return to China, but it was acceptable to stay abroad. In short, it depends on which side develops well.

There will be a long interval between the third stage and the second stage. Maybe your work here will start to improve slightly, or in the meantime, you will get married and even have children, and you will start to adapt to life in China. I feel that everything China does is "for people, not for things". It doesn't matter what you do.

The Australian study abroad circle is essentially a preparatory course for the immigrant circle. The places to play are all the same, but our natural scenery is good, the sky is blue and the night is black, and there are many first-class beaches. Even in winter, when we look up at night, we can see the stars.

Immigrating to cities, it is speculated that the disgraceful ancestral background of mainstream Australian Yang Lu people will not be too arrogant; In addition, compared with other countries, local is easy to deal with, and some BBQ, fishing and footy have the same hobbies. But even so, most people in China are used to playing together.

In short, this is a paradise for international students who like freedom, don't care much about high-level office work, don't like living in the eyes of others, and don't care how lively their living environment is.

For other personalities, it may not be suitable. Of course, parents and relatives are also very important.

To tell the truth, the illusory thing of the international student circle is of little significance to individuals except knowing more stories. We don't even have a real community, we have our own small circle to be self-sufficient. Not as good as the earth's biosphere, at least there is a food chain. And this circle, big or small, is tightly controlled by the Australian Immigration Bureau, and every policy affects many people's hearts.
