Jiudian Gorge is located in Zangbawa Township, Zhuoni City, Gansu Province. Jiudian Gorge is rich in hydraulic resources, and the towering and steep valleys provide unique conditions for hydropower project construction. From June, 5438 to February, 2002, the Jiudianxia Water Control Project and Taohe Water Diversion Project, which are the largest in Gannan's history and have been expected for half a century, kicked off. Jiudianxia Water Control Project is located at the entrance of Jiudianxia in the middle reaches of Taohe River at the junction of Lintan County and Zhuoni, with Hulu River in the east, Weihe River in the south and Yellow River in the north, involving Gannan Prefecture, Dingxi City and 10 national key support counties. It is a large-scale water control project with the main functions of urban and rural water supply, industrial water supply and ecological environment water supply, as well as the comprehensive functions of agricultural irrigation, power generation, flood control and aquaculture.
