Chen Ajiang, male, born in 1963, is from Wujiang, Jiangsu. Graduated from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Applied Sociology in 1997 with a Ph.D. He is currently the director of the Department of Sociology, Director of the Environmental and Social Research Center of Hohai University, professor, and doctoral supervisor. From 1997 to 2004, he worked at the Immigration Research Center of Hohai University; from 2004 to present, he worked in the Department of Sociology. From 2005 to 2006, he conducted visiting research at the Institute of Applied Anthropology at the University of Arizona in the United States. From August to November 2008, he lectured at Aichi University in Japan.
