Is Dongying Bank the same as China Merchants Bank?

Dongying Bank is a local commercial bank. Formerly known as Dongying City Commercial Bank, it was established in September 2005, and was officially renamed Dongying Bank on March 20 12. China Merchants Bank is one of the six largest banks. China Merchants Bank was established on April 8, 1987. It is the first joint-stock commercial bank in China headquartered in Shenzhen. Established by Hong Kong China Merchants Group Co., Ltd., with the shareholding ratio of 18.03% as the largest shareholder.

China's six major commercial banks refer to six national joint-stock commercial banks, namely China Merchants Bank, Huaxia Bank, China CITIC Bank, Industrial Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and Minsheng Bank.
