"Certain conditions" means that the income is more than twice the per capita national income (GNI) of South Korea, the annuity over 60 years old is higher than the per capita national income, and the property tax is more than 500,000 won. In addition, overseas Chinese born in Korea will still get permanent residency when they return home after going abroad.
The Ministry of Justice also plans to grant permanent residency to foreigners who have invested more than 500,000 US dollars (about 500 million won) in South Korea and employed more than five Korean nationals, regardless of the length of stay. Up to now, you must invest more than 2 million US dollars in South Korea and employ more than 5 nationals to obtain permanent residency.
