Immigrant military service
The first generation of Singaporean immigrants don't need to do military service, but if your son immigrates to Singapore because you are a permanent resident, he will do military service.
By bringing Singaporeans from different backgrounds together, the National Service Corps has further promoted understanding and unity among people of different races. It has become a way of life, and it has become a * * * experience connecting male citizens in Singapore. Allowing foreign citizens (dual citizens) to join the army does not exempt Singaporean citizens from the obligation to perform military service.
Like all other male Singaporean citizens, dual citizens must register for full-time national service (NSF) when they reach the age of 16 and a half. Once you reach the age of 18, you need to join full-time national service (NSF).
Evasion from military service is a crime (see article 32 of the Military Service Law). Anyone who tries to evade military service will be tried, and investment immigrants will be sentenced to imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to S $5,000, or both.
National service boarding
All Singaporean male immigrant citizens aged 65,438+0.6 and a half must register for military service.
Registration of Singaporean male citizens living and/or studying overseas for a long time.
You will receive a registration notice, requesting to register for Overseas National Service (NS).
Electronic Registration of Singaporean Male Citizens Studying/Living in Singapore
If you are studying in a local public school/college in Singapore, you can apply for delaying military service during the completion of your studies. Documents to be submitted before enlistment and students whose scheduled physical examination time is about to complete their current studies and/or can't be delayed any longer need to submit relevant documents online and make an appointment for physical examination time.
The Central Manpower Bureau (CMPB) will send you a notice telling you the date of online registration. Singapore's mass media will also issue a notice to inform those who have the obligation to participate in national service to register. We will send you a registration notice one week in advance so that you can get ready for registration.
