Shenzhen, also known as Pengcheng, is located on the east bank of the Pearl River Delta in the south of China. It is the first special economic zone and sub-provincial city in People's Republic of China (PRC), Guangdong Province and China. It was formally established on August 26th, 1980 with the approval of the State Council.
20 10 July, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone officially expanded to the whole city. Shenzhen has developed from a former border town into a modern new city with certain international influence.
Shenzhen has become an important base, financial center, information center, trade center, transportation center and tourist attraction in southern China, and it is a modern international city.
