Reservoir refers to an artificial lake formed by building a dam at the narrow entrance of a canyon or river. After the reservoir is completed, it can play a role in flood control, water storage irrigation, water supply, power generation, fish farming and so on. Sometimes natural lakes are also called reservoirs. There are many large and small reservoirs in Hebei, which reflects the importance of Hebei's geographical location and is enough to witness the diligence and wisdom of Hebei people. Panjiakou Reservoir

Panjiakou Reservoir is the largest freshwater reservoir in Hebei Province, located at the junction of Qianxi County in Tangshan and Kuancheng County in Chengde, 27 kilometers south of Qianxi County. It is the first large reservoir in the upper reaches of Luanhe River, and it is the source of water to divert Luanhe River into Tianjin and Tang Dynasty. It is named after the reservoir area is located in Panjiakou Village, Qianxi County.

The reservoir area is known as the "Three Gorges in the North" and the "Lijiang River in Zhao Yan" with rippling blue waves, continuous green hills and overlapping peaks. Panjiakou Reservoir started construction in June 1975, was listed as a national key project in June/976, and began to store water in February 1979. There is an ancient Great Wall in the reservoir, which dives into the turbulent clear water along the ridge, and then jumps from the other side to the high mountain and winds away. Cuifeng dances with dragons, and the high gorge emerges from Pinghu, thus creating the unique underwater beauty of the Great Wall and adding wonders to the Great Wall of Wan Li.

Shandianhe Reservoir is located in Guyuan County, Hebei Province, about 20 minutes' drive from Bashang Grassland in northern Beijing. The street sign usually says "Lightning River Scenic Area", but it is actually just a playground. The truly beautiful scenery is the Lightning River Reservoir.

According to local people, before 1958, there were no lightning rivers and reservoirs, let alone lightning lakes. That place used to be a swamp. After 1958, the government began to organize forces to raise fish around the dam foundation of the existing reservoir, and the scale gradually expanded. 1980, the government overhauled the reservoir. Because it is located in the hometown of Lightning River, it is named "Lightning River Reservoir". Subsequently, all the rivers downstream have a unified name-Lightning River.

On August 25th, 2009, Shandianhe Reservoir Water Conservancy Scenic Spot in Guyuan County of Zhangjiakou City was approved by the Ministry of Water Resources as the ninth batch of national water conservancy scenic spots, becoming the first national water conservancy scenic spot in Zhangjiakou City. The lightning river twists and turns like a jade belt on the grassland. The reservoir dam blocks the lightning river to form a lake, just like a jasper. The vegetation coverage rate in the scenic spot is 90%, with beautiful mountains and rivers and rich regional customs, just like a paradise. This is a good place to spend the summer.

Huangtuliang Reservoir, built in 1979, is located in Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, Chengde, belonging to the upper reaches of Xingzhou River in Luanhe River system of Haihe River Basin, northwest of Xiguanying Township 1 km. The rainwater collection area of the reservoir is 324 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 28.3 million cubic meters. The homogeneous earth dam is 39.3 meters high, 340 meters long and 5 meters wide at the top. The main project of the reservoir consists of barrage, spillway, spillway tunnel, hydropower station and spillway. It is a medium-sized reservoir mainly for flood control and irrigation, with comprehensive benefits such as power generation, fish farming, fruit and tourism.

The Paradise of Birds-Yanghe Reservoir

Yanghe Reservoir is located in the north of Dawanzi Village, Funing County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. It is a large-scale (II) water control project on the main stream of Yanghe River, which is responsible for the industrial and domestic water consumption in Qinhuangdao City, as well as the flood control safety in the downstream areas such as Funing County, Beidaihe Sanatorium, Beijing-Qinhuangdao Railway, Jingshan Railway, Beijing-Shenyang Expressway, 102 and National Highway 205. It is one of the main grain production bases in Qinhuangdao.

The basin has a mild climate with four distinct seasons, belonging to a warm temperate monsoon climate zone, with an average annual rainfall of 750 mm and an average annual runoff of 65.438+69 billion cubic meters, and the runoff in flood season accounts for about 70%. Yanghe Reservoir is also called tianmashan Reservoir.

Taolinkou Reservoir

Taolinkou Reservoir dam site is located near Sandaohe Village, Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County, Qinhuangdao City, and is one of the important passes of the Great Wall. Qinglong river is the main tributary of Luanhe River, with a total length of 246 kilometers and a drainage area of 6,340 square kilometers. Taolinkou Reservoir controls 5060 square kilometers. Taolinkou Reservoir is a key construction project of the Ministry of Water Resources and Hebei Province during the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Ninth Five-Year Plan.

Taolinkou Reservoir is a national large-scale water control project, and the high gorge and Pinghu formed after the reservoir impoundment let tourists appreciate the charm of the "Little Three Gorges".
