Lancang is the only Lahu Autonomous County in China, with eight ethnic minorities living in the world, accounting for 79% of the county's total population, of which Lahu population accounts for 43% of the county's total population,12 of the national Lahu population and13 of the world's Lahu population. Lahu language belongs to Yi branch of Tibeto-Burman language family of Sino-Tibetan language family, including Lahu Na dialect and Lahu Xi dialect.

2. Lahu costumes:

The traditional clothing of Lahu nationality is black, and the clothing of men and women is mainly black. Men usually wear double-breasted shirts, black cloth pants, black cloth hats or black headscarves. Women wear black cloth robes with slits. The cuffs and lapels are inlaid with silver bubbles and sewn with various laces. They are wearing black trousers and long black head cloth. Both ends of the headcloth are decorated with colored spikes and wrapped with leggings.

Lahu people live together in the form of Lahu villages. Most villages have thatched houses, hotels, churches and cowsheds.
