Business hours of the Chinese Embassy in Japan

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday. Consular services:

Consular services of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan: passport and visa services, notarization and certification services, etc.

The main functions of the Consular Department are: to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens; to promote the unity, cooperation and development of overseas Chinese groups and compatriots; to handle passports and notarizations for Chinese citizens, and to handle authentication of Chinese citizens and foreigners; Visa for people going to China.

The Consular Department has four groups:

Consular Overseas Chinese Affairs Group: Mainly responsible for consular protection and overseas Chinese delegations, overseas Chinese, and Chinese affairs;

Document Group: Mainly responsible for Various certificates;

Passport and Visa Team: Mainly responsible for the replacement, reissue, extension and issuance of travel certificates for national citizens’ passports, and processing visas for foreigners and foreign Chinese to visit China.

Police Team: Responsible for liaison with relevant Japanese departments and combating crime.
