Does immigration change nationality?
1. Immigration = foreign nationality?
Many people may think that "emigration" means quitting China citizenship. Actually, this is totally different. Although different countries have different immigration policies, most of them are the same.
Take Canada as an example: "Immigration to Canada" only means that you have obtained the "permanent residency" in Canada, that is, you can live in Canada, but you are still a citizen of China and a native of China. If you really want to leave China and become a Canadian, you need to apply for naturalization.
Many old immigrants have been naturalized, but in recent years, more and more immigrants from China will choose to obtain permanent residency instead of giving up their citizenship in China, believing that this is the last "retreat".
The following are the functions of three related documents:
A visa will limit your time in the visa country and allow you to travel and live in a certain country within the specified time.
Permanent residence and green card to obtain the status of immigrant country, do not need to join foreign nationality. Enjoy the right to live in a certain country all the time, enjoy the welfare benefits and relevant policies of that country.
Passport naturalization, become a citizen of this country and enjoy visa-free treatment.
Second, immigration = settling overseas?
This understanding is wrong. "Immigration" is just a kind of visa issued by some countries to foreigners. After getting this "immigrant visa", it's up to you whether to come, when to come and how long to stay, so you can still go back to work and live abroad.
It should be noted that some countries have special requirements for immigrants, such as Canada, which only requires you to live in Canada for two years every five years, so that you can retain your "permanent residency". But in European countries, such as Portugal, seven days a year can guarantee your permanent residence.
There is also Hungary, which does not meet the residence requirements and can change from permanent residence to permanent residence after six months.
Third, immigrants = rich people?
This is definitely a huge misunderstanding, because Bian Xiao is a truly valuable poor man.
Now many middle-class and working-class people will emigrate overseas, not just the rich. For example, some countries need technical support and will open some policies to attract foreign talents. This is the so-called skilled migration.
Immigrants to Hungary only need to buy 300,000 euros of government bonds, Portugal and Spain only need 500,000 euros to buy local real estate, and Greece only needs 250,000 euros to buy real estate to get the right of abode.
Fourth, immigration = capital flight?
First of all, it is undeniable that there must be capital flight in real life. However, it would be unfair to put this "hat" on the heads of immigrants. Not only immigrants can open accounts and transfer property abroad, but non-immigrants can also open accounts and transfer property abroad.
Therefore, immigration and capital flight cannot be simply equated.
Now more and more ordinary entrepreneurs and working-class people choose to emigrate overseas. Investment immigrants are not all billionaires, and the middle class is no longer a minority. For the middle class, there is not much money to "escape" except for immigrant investment. Most applicants' investment funds are only to meet the minimum requirements of investment immigration.
5. Immigration = unpatriotic?
This understanding is all wet, not to mention how hard overseas immigrants have made for China's image abroad. It is disgusting to use the word "patriotism" to kidnap personal freedom morally. Besides, it is not really "patriotism", but an excuse for some extremists.
Everyone will have their own choices. Choosing to emigrate is nothing more than giving children a good education and a more convenient lifestyle. It has nothing to do with patriotism, but for a better life. At the moment of economic globalization, immigration is a global asset allocation behavior.
Changing nationality and living overseas for a long time is no longer the purpose of most immigrants. Nowadays, immigration has become a win-win or even win-win investment method.
The year of 20 18 can be said to be the fourth "immigration tide". With the potential of China being gradually tapped, people's life choices are slowly changing, and more China people choose to emigrate rather than emigrate to other countries. Overseas identity is like putting an identity tag on investors.
With this label, investors and their families can have more convenience in overseas investment, overseas education and overseas welfare.
