Is IELTS 7.0 difficult?
In fact, in my opinion, unless a person has special skills, it is generally inseparable from language services. What people do most after graduation is nothing more than translating, teaching English and dealing with foreigners, such as trade, sales and tourism. But now English is rather extensive, and many people can understand a little or drag on a sentence or two. Unless you are engaged in translation and sales, the pressure of work just after graduation is quite great, because generally speaking, you don't have real "skills" and ability or strength.
No matter in any company, if you want to develop steadily for a long time, then you must have an ability that others can hardly replace, or you are an expert in a certain field. But in the English department, apart from full-time translation, we have a special "technology" and don't need specific training. So unless you make up your mind to be a full-time translator, I suggest you continue your further study, learn something you are interested in and build your competitiveness!
If I go abroad, my classmates will probably go abroad:
Generally speaking, interpretation schools, such as Monterey in the United States, Bath in the United Kingdom, New Castle and York, all have master's programs in interpretation, with teaching hours ranging from 1-2 years. Of course, there are many translation degrees in the United States and Britain, and the requirements for spoken English are not so high, but there are still some requirements for Chinese and translation skills.
Second language: Language+translation for studying in small language countries, because the translation market of small languages is much better than English.
Education: There are many graduate degrees with convenient education in the United States, such as one who teaches Chinese in the United States and one who teaches English abroad (Tesol? I can't remember), this kind of degree is available in many universities, and it feels good. After studying, you can go abroad to teach Chinese, or you can teach English or Chinese as a foreign language at home, but it also requires a certain level of Chinese.
Management/Finance: These are relatively broad, but to enter these majors, EMBA needs to be done well, and English majors are still difficult to apply for, especially for newly graduated students.
This is related to English, but some people directly take the second degree they are interested in, whether it is domestic or foreign.
But the premise I need to tell you is: no matter which major you study, you should first try to improve your English, otherwise it will be a waste of money, right? In fact, if you learn English, you don't have to put too much pressure on yourself. English has no technical content. Just control your laziness, be a little diligent and get better slowly. Maybe smart people will learn faster, but they won't say so without learning. Anyone can learn. So you must be proud of its importance in this respect.
Moreover, according to the feedback from international students, studying abroad is n times more difficult than studying in China. Of course, this kind of pressure can be transformed into motivation, and it can also be transformed into escape and degeneration. If you really decide to go abroad, you must be prepared.
To sum up, I suggest you really learn something, because our English department is really an embarrassing major. If you like languages, you can translate or learn a second foreign language. If you don't like the language, you can simply learn what you like from scratch. It's no good running away. I used to run away from many things, but in the end, I found that the more I run away from the pressure, the greater the pressure. Sometimes I hate myself for running away so much. The result of escape is failure, and I am under great pressure. Since then, I have been telling myself that even if you avoid something, what should come will come. When did you run away? What if you force yourself to have nowhere to run? With this idea, slowly find something for yourself to do, keep yourself busy, and slowly find your confidence and goals, and you will also have a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. So, take action, since you are worried that you can't find a good job, then slowly improve yourself. Which company will refuse competent people?
I hope my answer is helpful to you, and you can send a message at any time if you have any questions. Come on! !
