Investigation of Yuyao Dialect

Yuyao dialect belongs to Shaolin and Yongjiang in Taihu Lake of Wu dialect.

In the midwest of Cixi, most places originally belonged to Yuyao, including Hushan Street in the urban area. In this way, the Yuyao dialect spoken by people in Cixi belongs to Shaoxing dialect. In Yuyao, Hemudu, Yin Da, Lubu, Zhang Ting and Sanqi originated from Cixi, where the dialect is old Cixi dialect (Cicheng dialect), just like their old county town, Cicheng. Ci Town, the old county town of Cixi, is included in Jiangbei District of Ningbo, and the eastern part of Yuyao originally belonged to Cixi County. Therefore, the dialect of Cicheng in Ningbo is popular in the east of Yuyao and around Cicheng town, while Guanhaiwei area in the northeast of Cixi was established in the Ming Dynasty, and Fujian soldiers will be stationed in Guancheng, which is adjacent to Yuyao County and Zhenhai County in Ningbo. Therefore, Guanhaiwei Town and Zhang Qi Town speak Guancheng dialect.

Camels belonging to Zhenhai in Cicheng, Tang Hong and Zhapu in Jiangbei District originally belonged to Cixi. Fan Shi and Longshan, to which Cixi belongs, originally belonged to Zhenhai. The dialects in these places belong to Ningbo dialect, and although they are zoned everywhere, they have not brought much inconvenience in language.

Cixi basically has three dialects: Ningbo dialect in the east, Guancheng dialect in the middle and east and Yuyao dialect in the west. The tone of Yuyao dialect in the west is also different. For example, the Anton area in the north of Cixi is a Shaoxing immigrant with a Shaoxing accent. Orientals call it "lifting from the inside", the west calls it "raising the head" and the north calls it "tamping the head". Yuyao dialect in the north of Fuhai Town was formed by immigrants from Xinpu and Xiaolin.

The southern part of Fuhai Town should be the transition between Yuyao dialect and Guancheng dialect.

The transition between Guancheng dialect and Ningbo dialect should be in Fan Shi town,

Some words in Xiaolin Town, Qiaotou Town and xinpu town are really influenced by their proximity to Guancheng, especially the words in Ningbo dialect of Guancheng dialect (Wu) and Nao (Xi).

The transition zone between Yuyao dialect and Shaoxing dialect should be in Tang Qi, especially Andong town.

Chongshou Town, Xiao 'an Town, Xiaocaoe Town, Simen Town and Linshan Town are the transitional areas between Yuyao Dialect and Shaoxing Tone.

There are many Shangyu characters in Huangjiabu Town.

Liangyong Town in Yuyao and Lanjiang Street West (formerly Xiaodong Town) are Shangyu dialects.

Dalan Town is Yuyao dialect.

Generally speaking, the relatively pure Yuyao dialect is Yangming Tune and Hushan Tune. Yangming, Fengshan, Lizhou, Lanjiangdong, Luting Township, Simen Town, Linshan Town, Mazhu Town, Moushan Town, Xia Lang, Tang Di, Zhouxiang, Changhe West, Zhang Ting Town West and Lubu Town West.

Hushan tune in Yuyao dialect: Hushan, gutang, Baisha Road, Kandun, Han Zong, Tianyuan, Changhe East, Xiaolin, Henghe, Kuangyan, Qiaotou and Xinpu.

Yuyao dialect is tuned in Shangyu: Liangnong Town, Huangjiabu Town, Dalan Town West and Simingshan Town West.

Shengzhou Tone of Yuyao Dialect: South of Simingshan Town

Yuyao Dialect Shaoxing Anton Tune: Anton Town, Chongshou Town North, Xiaocaoe Town North, zhouxiang town North.

Cicheng dialect in Ningbo dialect: Lubu Town, Zhang Ting Town, Sanqi Town, Hemudu Town, Yinda Town and Cicheng Town.

Guancheng dialect in Ningbo dialect: Guanhaiwei town, southern Fuhai town, Zhang Qi town and Fan Shi town.

Ningbo dialect: Longshan town

Fujian Yan language: limited to several villages in Weicheng, Haiwei Town.
