Introduction to Macleans Middle School

Macleans Middle School, English name: Macleans College, was founded in 1980. The school is located in the North Island of New Zealand. It is a co-educational secondary school and was built by New Zealand Home Buildings.

The school is committed to success, has many years of high-quality teaching experience, a senior teacher team and a successful teaching system, providing high-level education in academic, cultural and sports fields. According to relevant data, the school currently has more than 2,200 students.

The significance of the school badge

The school has always adhered to the motto of the McLean family. The school crest on student sweaters consists of the castle from the MacLean family crest. The main center corresponds to six wavy lines. The waves are another symbol of the school’s location. The school emblem shows the school's philosophy of combining the best of the past with the present. Macleans School can proudly claim to be one of the top secondary schools in New Zealand.

Curriculum

The focus of school teaching is to continuously improve students' learning abilities, and most students at McLean Middle School have achieved outstanding results. Instruction in grades 9 and 10 focuses on developing students’ knowledge and skills. Teaching grades 11, 12, and 13 is the ultimate right of students to learn. According to the examination chosen by the student (such as the National Certificate of Educational Achievement Examination or Cambridge International Examination, etc.), the corresponding study course is selected.

McLean Middle School adopts the New Zealand education system NCEA and the Cambridge system CIE. NCEA is New Zealand's main national qualifications assessment system for high school students, launched in 2002. NCEA Level 1 replaced the bursary certificate system in 2002, Level 2 in 2003 and Level 3 in 2004.

Extracurricular activities

The school provides students with a variety of choices in culture and sports. Each student must participate in one of these activities. Arts and literature include chess, debating, drama, photography, orchestra, choir, orchestra, and more. These sports include table tennis, basketball, sailing, rowing, yachting, football, water polo, rugby, women's netball, tennis and more.

Teaching Facilities

Each building at McLean Middle School has a variety of teaching spaces and public areas that serve as social places. The family building is like an extension of the family. There are about 280-300 students in each building, just like an elementary school in a big school. Students will be assigned to one of the family-style school buildings at a time. While at this school, I will be studying in classrooms and buildings all the time.

It provides a large number of courses and ways for students to go to school, such as Cambridge International Examinations, so McLean Middle School can be called a truly international school. Based on the unique teaching philosophy of a family-owned school, we actively support a wide range of extracurricular activities to allow students to develop in an all-round way. McLean High School has always prided itself on the quality of its teaching staff, professionalism and the support of its school board.

McLean School students come from more than 50 different countries. International diversity and students and staff from a truly international community make the school vibrant and interesting. The school provides accommodation, family arrangements and first-class care to all international students.
